S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Tobi Zurbuchen for taking the SHAPE Assessment. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Evangelism:
The love of Christ compels me to share the gospel with people. God continues to give me many opportunities to share the gospel and I am growing in boldness.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Exhortation/Encouragement:
I have a passion for others to discover the joy and freedom that is found is living a life fully surrendered to Jesus. The most powerful way to do this I believe is through modelling this for others. Consequently it provides opportunities for exhortation and encouragement in mentoring/discipleship relationships.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Pastoring/Shepherding
I love to invest, mentor and disciple young believers with the goal of seeing them transformed by the gospel. I’ve had quite a few opportunities to do that particularly in China.
[H]eart
1. I love to pray with people and share the gospel with them.
2. I love to see believers unite for an impossible task which requires God’s Spirit to move in ways that only He can
3. I love to see people discover the pleasure and power of knowing God. There is nothing like intimacy with Jesus.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
I came to faith when I was ten years old. My dad shared the gospel with me, I became aware of my sinfulness, how lost I was and consequently my need for a Saviour. He led me in a prayer which is when I trusted in Christ for my salvation.
We (as a family) served as missionaries in China with Pioneers for about ten years (Jan. 2007-Sept. 20016). We were involved in mentoring, discipleship, evangelism, as well as facilitating and leading a missionary team to engage unreached people groups in SouthWest China.
This past year I’ve been serving as a mobilizer for Pioneers Canada which involves some travelling and speaking at bible colleges as well as missions conferences.
I was involved in various ministries at my home church in Simcoe for an 8 month internship in early 2000’s.
About three years ago during a leadership development training I spent several days in prayer and reflection. During that time the Lord clearly spoke to me, specifically giving me a greater depth of understanding of His great love for me (I understood this on a cognitive, academic and theological level but it hadn’t fully penetrated my heart). This began a journey in my walk with the Lord that has been life changing.
Pressing into the truth of my identity in Christ has been significant. I could say more but I’ll leave it at that.
Recently I have been growing in prayer and fasting, and really just learning to find pleasure in my relationship with Jesus. Again, I’ll leave it at that.
Several years ago I had an experience with conflict that taught me so much about myself and some of my own weaknesses and areas for needed growth. I learned much from this experience and have grown in dealing with these type of situations in a much healthier way
Although raising a family overseas has been a blessing (and we would do it again in a heartbeat) it has also come with a lot of challenges and difficult circumstances. Some of this includes our kids having had seasons of not having any friends, constant goodbyes and many stressful and unpredictable situations our kids have been in just to name a few. And yet it has been amazing to reflect on God’s faithfulness and grace in their lives and how this has strengthened their faith.
Christy went through a season (years) of significant health challenges while we were in China. This was very difficult to navigate as a family and included some very stressful times. But even in the midst of great challenges God was so faithful and taught us so much during that season and we are able to have empathy for others going through similar circumstances.
