I enjoy explaining biblical concepts accurately and succinctly to small group members so that they can understand Scripture more deeply and grow in their faith, even being transformed by their faith!

It feels like second nature to encourage others, to say something that will encourage another person. It’s easy for me to find things that are good and positively stand out to me about others around me!

I want to be generous with my time and money. It’s important to me to live a lifestyle of service. I want to use what I have to further God’s kingdom. Giving generously reminds me that all I have is a gift from God.

[H]eart

1. Reading books, pursuing personal research projects by web surfing & reading

2. Having deep conversations with close friends in person or over the phone. Or being able to go deep with someone I just met! That is so rewarding. To be able to figure out how to connect with someone new and experience “friend chemistry” with someone!

3. Listening to electronic dance music and bopping to it! And singing along with it when I remember the lyrics!

I like working with kids who are old enough to talk to me, like around 10-12. Adults are rather prickly and have too much armor.

YOUTH GROUP. Because those experiences are so formative, but these ministries are often an afterthought.

… To determine a vocation?? Idk, live faithfully where God has placed me right now: at home and in the dental office (my workplace).

Baptized in the Catholic church as an infant, baptized in a nondenominational Chinese church as a middle schooler. Grew up in the church. Learned how to trust God and develop an intimate relationship with him in college. Still stumbling along, trying to find God in the every day.

Failing classes in college and struggling to succeed in math classes throughout my entire public school career. It’s still hard to shake that grades are a significant indicator of intelligence, and that not having good grades means that you are a dumb person. But hopefully it helps me be more sympathetic to those who struggle in the school system.

Loneliness in high school, esp after moving to WA. Struggling to make friends and connect with peers. Helps me to have an eye towards those who are excluded.

Living in two cultures. Always code-switching.
