Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
I made a verbal confession of faith as a child after my mom gave a simple explanation of what being a believer in Christ meant.
Nursing home visitation/food bank/community meal program
Salvation Army, Waukesha, WI (2009-2016)
As a child, we attended a church that had many opportunities for people of all ages to serve. As a child and as an adult, I’ve felt a sense of purpose when I’ve served within the church and out in the community.
In that same church I saw people live out their faith. In times of trouble, want and crisis, people turned to prayer first. This was a great example for me to see as a child.
A summer short term mission to Mexico as a teenager broadened my understanding of poverty.
Times of great stress have made me more sensitive to those going through similar circumstances.
Volunteering at the Salvation Army has broadened my understanding of how fragile life can be for people economically. A bad decision or circumstances out of our control can quickly spiral into joblessness, homelessness, and loss of family and community. While I’ve never experienced life without a roof over my head, I’ve had lean times which have increased my dependence upon God.
Negative church politics and fallen leaders have made me a bit more cynical and cautious about church and faith organizations.
