This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have good public speaking skills and communicate in a thoughtful way, always considering my audience and desiring to reach them effectively. I have led women in Bible studies and have taught preschoolers in a Bible study program. I’m told I am a natural teacher and speaker. I’ve taken public speaking classes, where I’ve done well, and I tend to be selected as speaker in small group scenarios.

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I want others to know the love of God in a greater way. I want them to experience the fullness of their salvation, which includes forgiveness of sins and letting go of guilt and condemnation which so frequently burdens Christians. So I encourage people in this area. I have many opportunities to do this with friends, family, people in my Bible study group, even strangers. I also love encouraging people in whatever they are doing. If I notice something good, I try to let the person know. We all need that!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am conscientious about getting things done properly and efficiently, and I like helping people. I like completing a task. For several years, I’ve helped with technology support in uploading lectures and pretty much everything else tech-related. I’ve resolved issues and communicated with others to improve our processes and systems. While it’s not my favorite task, I’m glad to lend my skills to help whenever I can, and I enjoy seeing problems getting resolved.

[H]eart

1. I love singing worship songs. Love love love it. It totally lifts my spirit and is powerful. If God has it in His plans for me, I hope I can lead others in singing for Him during this lifetime! If not, well, there’s always heaven 🙂

2. I love communicating God’s love to people, helping them see who God is more clearly and grow in unexpected ways.

3. I love the fellowship I have with my Christian friends, and I have enjoyed teaching and sharing God’s love with preschoolers and women’s groups.

I don’t really think it matters to me. I have experience with women of all ages and preschoolers, especially 4-6 yr olds, but I enjoy all ages, people.

Worship/music ministry seems to excite me the most right now, but I’m not sure yet if that is where I’m supposed to be. I am driven to share the love of God.

Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

[E]xperience

I grew up in going to church (Southern Baptist – I lived in the South). I believed from a very young age, and I made the decision to accept Jesus as my Savior around the age of 8. I also went to Christian school from grades 1-9. Both school and church taught the gospel message, which I believed and received.

BSF (Bible Study Fellowship), Wyckoff NJ: usher 2007-2012; technology support 2012-present; Group Leader 2012-2016; Children’s Leader 2016-2018; Assistant Children’s Supervisor 2018-19

Biggest impact has come from God leading me to certain resources that challenged my perceptions of Him and helped me grow out of some deep-seated wrong thinking. Perhaps this sounds vague but it’s had the biggest impact on who I am today, my relationship with God and others, and my outlook in life.

Meeting my husband, who provided me with so much love, so much support, fulfilled needs I wasn’t fully aware I even had. He challenges me in unique ways as well, which helps me keep growing.

Finding BSF (Bible Study Fellowship), which has provided me with so many friends and so much fellowship. My relationship with God has grown in ways I could never have imagined. I’m even closer with family, as my sister, aunt, & uncle, as well as my cousin’s family have all been involved with BSF.

Growing closer to God after the death of my father when I was 13. In more recent years, understanding God as my loving Father and experiencing a much deeper level of healing.

Receiving healing from back pain. Learning to lean into God and His love for me in a much greater way, and learning to let go of a lot of things I had been clinging to (e.g., control, perfectionism, always striving to do better — and not knowing how to relax and trust God)

Loss of job(s) and disappointment of feeling like I failed to live up to my own or others’ expectations.
