#1 Gift, Administration (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have worked for 40 years as a professional teacher, head teacher administration and relieving deputy principal.

#2 Gift, Giving (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I believe, money is a God given resource, that needs to be managed and used appropriately, and generally speaking needs to be ‘earned’ in honest ways AND that God has blessed me with a good education, job security, good health, a stable and safe country to live and work in and I could go ..on and on…

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (65%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have seen so much pain and damage and destruction wreaked on students and parents over many years (so to staff under may care/supervision) that seeking to support, challenge, by ‘find the positive/good’ in them or their situations – has been a daily habit – I choose may years ago in my previous full time working life.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. music, oil painting, gardening and dance.

2. sharing times together with friends, family, church family.

3. Seeing people healed – physically, emotionally, spiritually. Seeing ‘leaders and systems’ change – due to my input into them. That is, seeing God in action, impacting His creation, according to His purposes and plan.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

The ‘type’ of person doesn’t worry me. Mainly teenagers and adults. Whilst I love babies and toddlers (who wouldn’t) – I am quickly bored by them and the very elderly and infirm, I feel immense sadness and helplessness.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Growing our church in our local community, issues of equity and justice for our First Peoples and seeing Jesus’ ministries of healing re activated in 21st century church teaching and practice.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Raised in a Christian family (Methodist and Anglican). Became a Christian at an I.S.C.F. Crusader Camp at age 14 or 15.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Member of Healing Ministry prayer teams at St.Andrews’ Cathedral Sydney (9 years), intermittent bible study groups in whatever locations I worked in public education. Recent years – Parish Council, Synod Rep, sing in music worship group, an L.L.M.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

The healing of my son as a new born baby, after the intercessory prayer of Canon Jim Glennon and his prayer teams at St Andrews’ Cathedral Sydney Healing Ministry. I brought my son David home after nine weeks of post surgical complications, viral meningitus and septicemia.

‘Seeing’ an enormous, radiant, awesome Angel going before our previously very ill rector at the communion rail, during a freezing morning service at Kandos. The Angel seemed to be ‘clearing the way, protecting our Rector’ as he moved along the rail to give communion. Initially, I felt a really cold rush of air and as I looked to to my left (to see who, in the right mind, might be opening church windows on this sub zero morning) – that I saw this radiant creature, massive, with possibly pinky/red eyes. Robed in white, light with I think massive wings at his sides. I briefly closed my eyes, shock my head (thinking I was seeing things – and possibly I was) and when I opened my eyes the Angel had disappeared.

I have driven thousands and thousands of kms over the years, for my work (often in remote areas), for my son and to visit/care for my mother over all her life with multiple health issues and to support my father, when my sister couldn’t. One Friday night trip, after a full work of work (I was very tired, and as it turned out – impatient) I went to over take a very slow car with elderly drivers up a steep hill, only to have the road reduce to one lane. As I pulled out, a massive new Mercedes Benz transport lorry, bore down on me. I can still remember the look of shock and horror on the lorry drivers face. I prayed “God help me” and immediately I felt in my minds eyes two massive angels, with their faces half turned to me – and the direction I was travelling – spread their massive wings along both sides of my car. (The elderly couple were merging into me, I moved right to avoid them, and as I did, I had moved into the on-coming traffic lane and into the path of the hurting truck coming down hill). It was all split second. After my arrow prayer, I felt immense sadness, not to be seeing my son again (travelling to his open/parents weekend at school) and waiting for the impact – to see and feel the impact of the right head lights being smashed, then the truck, to be hitting my right side windscreen pillar and me in the drivers seat. Instead, I felt the car being really violently shaken for side to side, really powerfully. The truck driver swerved off the road on the loose gravel and careered down the hill. I just could not believe that I hadn’t been hit, that the ‘laws of physics did not apply’. I pulled over dazed, thanked God that I was still alive, checked my rear vision mirror and could still see the truck descending the lower curves of the road (he hadn’t loss control and gone over the side of the mountain) , the elderly couple were also still on the road. I figured that God had answered my desperate arrow prayer mightily, and that He was very much real, loving and cared for us all. To top it off, my son when I saw him the next morning before his school football match, said to me; that he loved me and that I was the “best Mum in the world”, and for being there on the open weekend. Praise the Lord!!!

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Death of my middle sister with leukemia, when she was about 7 and a half. Seeing my previously happy, laughing, singing father turn into an old withdrawn man overnight, and my mother focus on my my 14 month old beautiful baby sister. I have had much to learn and heal through this life changing experience.

Multiple broken partnerships, and multiple marriage proposals which I have ‘walked away from’ – complex reasons – but essentially – ‘none of these possible partnerships ‘felt right’, for me as a person or for where I needed to go in life.

A lot of other losses: pregnancies, possibly of further children, both parents died, my father traumatically and very unexpectantly, cousins who were doctors with brain cancers, professional promotions. etc. Death, Loss and Rejections – can take many forms, and over the years I have a number.
