S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Chaplain and Minister, Kristen Elena Gregg for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I was a Missionary at Sweet Holy Spirit Church in Chicago, Illinois with Bishop, Larry D. Trotter. Missionary work and Evangelism continued in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a Chaplain and ordained Minister, I performed weddings, did ministry at the Salvation Army, preached at the Homeless Rescue Mission, performed funerals, and taught classes. I annually spent personal money and time to organize the church parade float for the Dr. M.L.K. Jr. Parade. (Greater New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church). As an educator, my career has been my ministry. I have taken a personal interest in assisting parents, students, internal publics, and external publics. I am currently a Missionary in the local community. My goal is to do Missionary work globally. I would like to do ministry in Israel or Africa. There is a CALL on my life. This life move or shift is not coincidental.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
My earthly profession has been education for twenty-eight years. I live by I Thessalonians 4:11. I let my actions speak for me. When I am called on to delegate, be a leader, or preach, I have been trained by the best.
‘Prior Preparation Prevents Poor Performance’
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
My personal motto is ‘Help Somebody’. I am very transparent. I know what neighborhood Kris grew up in. I have several extended families, mentors, Elders, and Bishops that have assisted me in my journey. I believe, in assisting people monetarily, through prayer, or with words of encouragement. I cannot forget tithing. God sees everything so How can I rob God? I believe in Pastor Love Offering. Too often, people forget the sacrifices Pastors and First Ladies make. Gas, grooming, air fare, 24 hr. phone calls, Cassocks, ministry attire, building a new church, etc. requires giving to the Pastor. I was practically a ‘PK’ in Las Vegas. Ministry is expensive. I look quiet, but God shows me everything and everybody. I have called it watching T.V. for years. Where is the spirit of discernment on this assessment?
[H]eart
1. I love to observe the academic achievement and educational attainment of my students. I have never attended a student birthday party, soccer game, Baptism, football game, etc. without a gift or words of encouragement for years.
2. I enjoy helping others. When I left Chicago, I had more Mary J. Blige (No More Drama) issues in my life. Now, most of my friends and extended families are struggling with employment or health challenges in Chicago, Illinois or Gary, Indiana. It feels good to help people out that helped me. I still love my extended families and friends. They understand Kris and my journey. I don’t act brand new.
3. I love to shop. People remember me based on my attire. I cannot help it. Between work and church, I like to look professional. I dare to be different. After I pay high rent here, a mortgage in Las Vegas, tuition, etc. I am going to do Kris. This is not arrogance. This is I deserve to treat me.
Based on my ability to listen, I have to say, “I like working with senior most”. They bring wisdom to the game. I have so many mentors in different cities. Before preaching, weddings, funerals, etc. I had different mentors that gave me sound advice. I enjoy working with educators. It is in my DNA. I gravitate to people that think like me. I am always using forward thinking . How can we get better? What can I do differently? I like working with individuals who have a ‘Positive Growth Mindset’. I like working with people who meet deadlines. Talk is cheap to me. Actions tell me everything about a person. I like quiet people. The loudest people in the room are not always the most knowledgeable or qualified. I like to work with Christian persons. I am huge on working with individuals that possess character traits like integrity, honesty, humility, humor, faith, trust, and accountability. I love individuals who do not make excuses. I am also very organized.
Victory4Life is a perfect fit because I helped organize the Bible Institute in Las Vegas, Nevada. I assisted the church with organizing a rotating calendar for classes Ministers or Elders taught. This way, the same persons do not get burned out. Again, I organized the Syllabus, Gradebook, Policy and Procedures, Certification, and Promotion Ceremonies. I would like to begin working in the Prison Ministry again. I also follow-up with new members by telephone. I organized a filing system for persons and families that joined the church. I had to communicate with the leaders for Baptism, New Members Class, and Administration regarding persons who joined the church. Therefore, the Altar Ministry is the perfect fit.

I am down-to-earth and I have faith. I told God, “No matter how high or how far you take me, I just want to be Kris”. I do not live in fear, I live in faith. I am crazy enough to believe everything God tells me. I treat everyone equitably.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
My mom was a woman of God. Her saying was “If you can go to the club on Saturday night, you can get up for church on Sunday mornings”. My mother kept me in church. I became a Christian at 14 years old.

My relocation to Las Vegas, Nevada is an experience that helped to shape the confident woman I am today. God gave me direction and a template for HIS purpose. My lifestyle changed.
Being ordained and preaching the Word of God were positive experiences for me because I am quiet. I just cannot believe the way God uses me. I am just Kris from 123rd street. Receiving feedback from Bishops and Elders in the game a long time made me start thinking, there is a CALL on my life. It is humbling to hear how a message(s) affect people.
Validation and references from previous employers and associates as a dedicated educator match the solid references I am still receiving today as an educator. Again, this speaks to my character. It tells me, Kris has not compromised who she is as a educator or person.
I was a drinker. I liked to party. I was suicidal. Relatives on both sides of my family are deceased. Death seemed to be a domino effect in my twenties. It made me a stronger person. I still until this day look at friends who take having both parents for granted. I learned several things about myself, life, and how to survive independently. I am now able to empathize with friends and people who are experiencing similar challenges.
My identical twin sister has been homeless more than once. This cuts like a knife because I know how my mom raised us. My mom believed in church and education. I am perplexed about my sister. My sister has a degree. My sibling’s situation has made me value my credit. I value money management. I value consistently being in education and staying employed for almost thirty years. My promotions are coming in ministry and in education. I have a friend experiencing a nasty divorce. She too is experiencing depression and suicide. Although she is Catholic, I have prayed with her and tried to be a listening ear. She has started attending church.
Failure. The inability to pass the biased state Praxis Test motivated me to ‘Keep it Moving’ in education. Kris is not suppose to be working on a doctorate degree. I kept my faith. I kept going to school. I would not let anybody tell me what I could not do. I really do live the Word of God. Every problem in life has a solution in the Word of God. I could never figure out, I am a straight ‘A’ student but I never tested well. Once again, the race is not given to the swift nor strong but he that endureth. I will bless the Lord at all times, HIS praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. Maybe, after this assessment, people will understand why I am fearless. I am respected, Pastor, Jazz by many. People on the job, people in Las Vegas, or church members could not believe I would make a life move without knowing anybody in MD. I trust God, Pastor, Jazz. If God be for me, who can be the world against me?
