The first thing I did when I became a Christian is find a bible study so I could learn about my new faith. I suppose teaching is an extension of learning, and I enjoy being a student. When I join bible studies, I usually end up leading or helping to lead them.

[E]xperience

Grew up believing in God but didn’t know Jesus. Loved church, tho. Parents divorced when I was 12, didn’t really attend church after that. Jerrod and I got married and both wanted to find a church. We found a church community we liked and joined a small group. The leader did a ‘testimony’ exercise with us and I realized I didn’t have one. So I wrote out my confession of faith and read it to my small group at the next meeting. When I looked up I saw lots of tears! lol! I didn’t understand why at the time, but I do now. 🙂 I was 28.

Administered and lead momLife Evenings for working moms at Mt. Pleasant Community Church for 2 years. Lead bible studies for 30+ women and organized them into small groups with designated discussion leaders.

Attended Precepts Leader training and became certified to teach Precept Inductive studies. Lead or co-lead many Precept courses at Mt. Pleasant Community Church.

Attended Small Groups Leader training at Willow Creek. Lead a marriage small group for several years and co-lead a combined small group for several years.

Working at the writing center and being able to use my skills & abilities to help other people.

Being told in a bible study that the way I explained something helped it make more sense or inspired them.
