S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you William Hoskovec for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Evangelism (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have made some bad mistakes and have come to understand not only that I need a savior but why I need a savior. God’s desire for sinners to turn to him is commensurate with his infinite love. That’s the God I try to serve.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Again, I have made some bad mistakes and experienced God’s Grace. God puts us where we are for his purposes and his Glory. He loves us and has plans for us and desires for us. While we draw breath, there is always hope.

#3 Gift, Giving (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I suppose this is a matter of stewardship: being faithful with what God has trusted me with…or at least given me some discretion with.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Enjoying adventures and experiences with my family

2. Learning and playing music

3. Things that go

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

No preference. I have learned that old people are pretty cool. Cherish them and listen to them, because when they die, their stories go with them.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Worship team/music, community outreach, presentation: essentially, what a person or family might experience or perceive about our church upon their first visit to our church. It is my prayer that they feel welcomed and that the Spirit noticeably dwells among our church family.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

(sprinkle) Baptized Lutheran at like 6 weeks old. No regular church until my family began regularly attending a Presbyterian Church when I was in high school. Enjoyed the fellowship and involvement. Not very many young people there.
After high school and almost all through my 20’s, I was a regular “Philistine.” I did what I wanted, when I wanted, and how I wanted with very little concern for the consequences. I ultimately grew tired of myself and who I was becoming, so I began to become more and more self-destructive. Eventually, I did something dangerous enough and dumb enough to pretty much shatter everything in my life without actually killing me. Having gazed into the abyss and lived to remember it, I began to realize that I had been blessed with some pretty terrific people in my life who truly loved me, and who certainly did not deserve the pain and anguish my meaningless death would have caused. I became profoundly convicted by this, mortified by my own choices and exceedingly grateful to be alive. My brother had been saved a few years earlier, so he kind of mentored me and gave me a Bible, which I began to read. 1 Samuel 15:23 was the passage the Lord used. I realized and acknowledged that is was he (“Truth”) that I was rebelling against and rejecting. I suddenly and desperately did not want Him to reject me. This was probably the first time I ever considered my worth in the light of true glory, and understood that I need a savior and why I need a savior.
