[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Traveling to new places. Learn about indigenous people. Experiencing new food, places, activities I’ve never tried before.

2. Spending time with nieces/nephews. Providing new experiences.

3. Helping people grow (spiritually, socially, financially)

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Teenagers – young adults and women (singles, teen mothers, single mothers)

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

The Church has become stale and void (lost its saltiness). Too many churches are like country clubs, appealing to their members but not reaching out to their hurting communities.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in the United Methodist Church and had a salvation experience at 14. While I had accepted Christ, I still felt something was missing, probably a lack of biblical teaching. While at a military training course, a couple of Captains saw that I was seeking something and risked their careers by witnessing to/discipling me. On the day of graduation, they led me in the prayer of salvation. I left Fort Benjamin Harrison,IN a changed person. I immediately returned to Baltimore and sought a teaching ministry where I could grow spiritually.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

The Lord’s Church, Baltimore, MD: Member ~1990-~1995, Served as Youth Minister, Overseeing Children’s ministry, trained staff, coordinated children’s church

Full Gospel AMEZ/From the Heart Church Ministries, Temple Hills, MD: Member, December 1995 – December 2000, taught in Christian School for 3 years, assistant coordinator for missions trip to Ghana, Ministry to Unwed/Single Mothers

McLean Bible Church, McLean, Virginia: Member January 2000 – January 2018, Assistant in Christianity 101 and 102 courses, Small Group Leader (2013 – 2016)

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

When I was working at FGAMEZ/FTHCM Christian School, I was debt free and making less than half my previous salary. This was a time when I learned to trust God , not only for my finances but for every aspect of my life. I learned to wait on Him and had so many experiences where I could look back and see his hand.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

While not living with my parents growing up was a negative experience (the reason was what made it negative), I became stronger and independent.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Go on a missions trip every year to serve less advantaged people (Africa, Central America, Indian Reservation)

4. Open a school with focus on STEM and African American History so our children can see the brilliance we have and the contributions we have made to the world

5. Take a 30-45 day “every continent” tour, visiting every continent including going on an African safari
