S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Traci Frostic for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Shepherding just comes natural. I want to help others in the ways that I needed it. It doesn’t help to just teach, or tell what to do. But we have to live life along side each other in order to have an impact for change.

#2 Gift, Administration (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Again, this just comes natural. I tend to just stand up and take charge in some situations. I do feel that this is where God has instilled natural tendencies that just take over when in certain circumstances. I feel more effective and at home when in these positions.

#3 Gift, Evangelism (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This one is a surprise to me because I was never very bold about sharing my faith. More of in a relational circumstance does evangelism come easy to me. Going to the Dominican has helped in this area. Also feeling that society is falling in line with Revelation, I have more of a need to share my faith. I sense this area growing in the future.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love being with my family. My family is everything to me. Being a mom was all I wanted when other women were looking for careers. I enjoy doing whatever we can do together. If my kids love it, then I love it. Watching them grow and develop brings complete joy and fulfillment to my life.

2. I love being with teenagers, especially high school and college age. It was such a great time in life, but also so difficult. Most teenagers are looking to become independent and move away from parents, so it is a great time to help guide them through a transitional phase of life, while having a positive impact.

3. Travel. I love to experience new places, cultures, people etc.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

High school and College age

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Being a genuine Christian. Living out our faith. Teaching kids how to love God and look for his approval instead of peer approval. Our society is very scary. The direction of our country and what we are being forced to accept.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a Christian home, so I have always been around God’s teaching. But it wasn’t until I left for college and was on my own, that it became my decision to follow Christ and not just because I was expected or told to do so. I was challenged to think on my own, to figure out if I believed the teachings that I was taught to be true or not.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Youth Director, Mops Co-Ordinator, Sunday School teacher – Countryside

Small group leader, Clowning ministry, Share Team, Prison Ministry, Choir, and RA at Central College, McPherson Kansas

Worked with McPherson youth group in McPherson Kansas 2 years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

The latest experience was going to the Dominican Republic to serve, but God spoke to me. He sparked the fire that had gone out in my soul. I felt a need to push past the hurts and just do what He wants me to do. I have to be the change that I want to see.

Having a Leadership Team at Church that believes and encourages me.

Having so many opportunities in College to try, to experience, to grow, to be encouraged has helped me encourage teens and my own children to go out and just try. To go and experience life, don’t hold back.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Numerous issues with negativity and being set up to fail from other Christians.

Having health issues that take over control of your life. Learning to stop trying to control, and having faith that God has control.

Having a difficult child is the biggest challenge of my life. It is still reshaping me, and am still in the process of “experiencing” this. But I already have great compassion for those who have gone through and will go through this. I never imagined that my husband and I would be dealing with some of these issues as we have raised our children in God’s hands. But I am learning more about free will, forgiveness and mercy.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Learn instruments that would be useful with praise band and a teen band.

4. Be available for teens/college kids

5. Go on more mission trips
