S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Hannah Bjustrom for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. [H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I enjoy working in a creative or management environment. Designing and bouncing ideas off of other creative individuals is one of my favorite things to do. I also thoroughly enjoy being in an office setting: making processes more efficient and taking care of finances.

2. I love to spend time with family and close friends. There is something about being surrounded by people you love and who also love you. With these people I am able to just sit around and talk about life – especially my husband.

3. Animals and outdoors. The countryside fills my heart with joy as does being surrounded by animals. I particularly enjoy gardening while outdoors and then experimenting with new dishes with the food I grow.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I prefer to work with eager, engaging and organized individuals with similar interests. I’m used to working with those my age (due to college) as well as those much older than me (due to work experience).

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Church events, especially those involving children or serving the community, interest me the most. I love giving back to the community and putting joy into someone’s day.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a household split between a Lutheran family (mom’s side) and a Catholic family (dad’s side). I’d go to both churches (Sunday school) as a kid and found myself confused – especially on the judgement that came between the different denominations. When it came to baptisms, my parents couldn’t decide for me and it resulted in my Catholic grandpa having my baptized on his own time. Ultimately, my parents didn’t go to church, so I spent many years not attending. I always believed in God… I just never KNEW him personally. In high school, I had some struggles with an abusive boyfriend and an alcoholic father, which resulted in me reaching out to God on my own. I later met my now high school sweetheart, who brought me to Harvest – This is when things finally started making sense to me. I was finally in a place where it wasn’t about a denomination, is was about God and His word. I was able to build a relationship with Him and re-dedicate my life to Him.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I have attended Harvest with my husband’s family (The Bjustrom’s) for about 7 years now, but unfortunately we have never really got involved in serving.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Having an athletic outlet as a child and teenager: Traveling Softball, Competitive Cheerleading, Dance & Tumbling

Meeting my now husband, Clayton and his family, who have had a major impact on my relationship with Christ.

Being expected to work hard and to give back as a kid. Getting my first job at 16 and having financial responsibility from then on.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Being confused by the different church denominations and not understanding the judgement between those, especially when they were to be honoring the same God.

Growing up with an alcoholic father.

Being in a mentally and physically abusive relationship in high school.
