S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Teaching (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I can’t help but teach. I see how details effect outcome and try and show others what I see. Both learning and teaching what I have learned excites me!

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I want to be encouraged! Words of affirmation is my primary love language. It it such a simple thing and yet kind words seem in short supply. God’s sovereignty and His Holy Word is an unceasing fount of encouragement for me! That His Spirit and mine will assuredly rise!!!

#3 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I was lost but now am found. I was undeserving but served. I was without merit but given the most precious gift in all creation.

I see people just as I was, walking the wide path of destruction for the most foolish of reasons. This saddens me in regards to their earthly state. This humbles me to the point of tears in regards to my adoption. This excites in me a call to action. To praise, and honor, and rightfully proclaim the name above all names and the greatest gift freely given!!!

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Love my wife and grow with her!

2. Learn new and old interesting things about God’s word and His wonder-filled creation.

3. Create.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love most of all to work with mature believers whose hearts are not heavy. Selfishly they meet a need in me. They rely on God and have both kind and wise words. They delight in God and his unending portion. It is easy in their presence because of their reliance in Him. I am learning that I am one of these and others come to me thinking I am at ease. The only peace I have is Christ’s and I simply turn them back to Him. It is gloriously simple. Yet we make it so very hard as we split ourselves into so many portions serving so many tiresome idols.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Fellowship in a culture hostile to fellowship.

God’s holiness! Scratching the surface of what it is to be in “AWE” . So that “fear” of Him and the “love” from Him might be more accurately understood in each of us.

Why, how, when, the Spirit takes control. What I’m called to do. Utter reliance on God’s power in both word and deed.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
