Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

I was raised in the 7th Day Adventist church and baptized into it. Although I ultimately converted I have a deep respect for their denomination and learned much of my biblical fundamentals because of this church. I have depended on God to get me though some very dark times and He has never failed me. Every wall I have come up against I have watched crumble before me in His name.

Going to San Diego State and graduating with my BSW was a huge accomplishment for me. It truly made me believe that if I pursued my dreams passionately I was able to achieve them despite overwhelming odds and this knowledge shaped me in many ways.

Being accepted to graduate school which opened doors for me to explore my possibilities wherein I can find ways to help people in my community as my career and gave me the opportunity to survive financially by caring for others.

Meeting my fiance and so many amazing women in my college sorority, MSW cohort, at church, etc who have become such an incredible support system for me. I highly value my friendships and believe that God brought has brought each of them into my life with unique purpose.

Losing my mother and by virtue of the foster care system, also my sisters, to drug addiction and incarceration. My mother is a good person who hit a very low point in her life when I was young and this permanently altered the course of my life, however it gave me empathy for others struggling with addiction.

Losing my cousin to gang violence. Although this was incredibly hard for me, I have seen first hand how devastating the realities of this are and it has given me compassion for those, especially the youth, whose lives are marred by and even lost to gang involvement.

My stepfather’s severe alcoholism and violence. This has been one I have struggled with and continue to struggle with as I lived with him and and experienced direct violence in my youth for many years. However, I also see my stepfather as someone I love who has done a great deal of good in my life and is very sick. This experience has given me a deeper understanding for the intracity that is human nature.
