Thank you Kristi Bertles for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Teaching (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I feel teaching is a calling upon my life. When my son was about to start a preschool program at 1st Baptist BC, the director asked me to teach. I had never even thought of teaching and really didn’t feel comfortable around other children. But I decided to do it because we didn’t have much money and my son could go for free. I was also a new christian and wanted to belong and be a part of something. That was the beginning of a lifelong journey of teaching in church as well as the public school.

#2 Gift, Administration (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’ve always had the gift of leadership and organization. I feel I can lead people and they respond to me in a positive way. I feel like the older I get that God has given me the ability to delegate and not try and do it all by myself.

#3 Gift, Giving (59%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Although this is a gift it has not always been easy for me. I feel that I have become more of a giver as I have aged. It seems to be much easier for me to give of my time than my money, but I am working on this.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I started attending church regularly when my son was 2. I attended a revival and on the first night I though he was only talking to me. So I went down during the invitation and told him I needed to rededicate my life. He asked me if I had ever been saved. I answered that I was baptized at the age of 10 when my family joined the church. He explained that being joining a church and being baptized didn’t save you. He then lead me through some questions and I realized that I need to ask Jesus into my heart. At that moment, when I was 25, my life completely changed.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I have served in almost every ministry at First Baptist Church, Bridge City.
S.S. teacher for preschool, children, J.H. and young adults. Preschool committee, nursery committee. Women’s ministry and teaching bible studies. Mission friends, AWANA’s, choir, Vacation Bible School.

Fellowship Baptist Church Bridge City.
Young adult S.S. teacher, nursery worker, choir, helped with youth functions, Vacation Bible School.

Winfree Baptist Church Orange Texas
Assisted my husband with Adult S.S. class, mission friends, choir, Vacation Bible School.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Preschool teacher

Being a part of a Sunday School class and having christian friends.

Learning biblical lessons from preachers, teachers, and mentors.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Losing lifelong friends because I became a christian and my lifestyle changed.

Losing lifelong christian friends due to church split.

Seeing christian’s scream at each other, talk about each other, and just be plain mean. It breaks my heart.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I would have no personal bills, so that I could give to all ministries in the church and actually give enough to make an impact on peoples lives.

4. I would like to travel to places that have been ravaged by storms and minister to them. I would like to buy a trailer with showers, and washing machines. They can get clean and I can clean their clothes.

5. I would love to have a S.S. party at my house every Friday night. I would love for people to feel welcome enough that they would invite their friends. I would love it if we could share Christ and see many people saved.
