Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
grew up in a Christian household, but began to get involved in church & camps independently from my parents, so it began to be my own. I would challenge what I saw as hypocrisy and sought mentors who could teach me and I could look up to. started reading devotional books & asking big questions. Would have considered myself a Christian this whole time, but really committed to a fuller understanding of the gospel and being a faithful follower in university after joining a christian club (power to change) in a genuine christian community (being among others living out their faith) and sharing my faith on mission trips and in university settings.
Volunteering in every church I’ve attended in kids ministry/youth group (st andrews presbyterian church in Moncton, NB from 2008-2013 in my middle/high school years in nursery/kids VBScamps; westside kings church in calgary, AB from 2016-2019 in my university years in kids ministry; north burlington baptist church 2019-2020 in youth group; forestview community church 2020-2021 in youth group)
interning on mission trip with power to change (2 month-long trips in 2016 & 2018)
camp ministry (camp wildwood in NB from 2012-2017 as cabin leader & head female counselor; southern alberta bible camp in AB in 2019 as resident director)
mentors in my life who taught me how to follow Chirst
involvement with power to change (christian community & mission trips)
seasons of rest where I focused on trusting the Lord and built on spiritual disciplines (had nothing else ‘productive’ going on)
family struggles of not being very close and having misunderstandings because of different views of faith – have a heart for healthy family relationships
going through burnout – having a heart for teaching others the biblical understanding of rest (especially in ministry)
season of job searching/vocation seeking since leaving university – having a heart for supporting others going through times of questioning/uncertainty
