[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I am passionate about health and wellness. As a cancer survivor and health coach, I enjoy all things healthy like workouts, healthy eating, hiking, and being outside. I’m also very in tune to mental health. I love to help others with their health.

2. I love music and worship! God speaks to me every hour of every day through music of many types. Worship is a daily part of my life. I’m also very passionate about kids’ worship.

3. I love to spend time with my two sons and continue to grow our relationships. I love being a part of their every day lives and doing life with them! Family and parenting are passions of mine in ministry, too, and it honestly started because of my own experiences as a parent.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love to work alongside people of any age, but if I had to give a “type” I would say I love to work with people that have a growth mindset – always eager to learn and grow! I enjoy working with kids of all ages because I love teaching them God’s Word, and I’m passionate about understanding each stage of childhood and how they learn. I also love to work with middle schoolers and youth age.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Being in ministry for over 25 years in some way, I feel like I’ve seen a lot of the reality of how a body of believers are not perfect, how staff is not perfect, and yet I still love to be a part of God’s work. It has been a God-sized dream for me to be able to be in full time ministry and have enjoyed the seasons in which I have been blessed to do that. Staying close to my sons, their families, and their needs is a concern for me with full time ministry.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

No one in my immediate family or extended family were Christians. I was saved at 6 yrs. old when the neighbor family took me to a VBS! From that time on, I would read my little Bible, walk to church when I was in elementary and middle school, and joined youth groups on my own. God literally plucked me out of a dysfunctional family and allowed me to grow in my knowledge and love of Him on my own somehow through the kindness of others I met along the way.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Kingview FWB Church – Leadership team, Creative team, Kids Ministry x 8 years

Westmoore Community Church – Kids ministry, writing/producing curriculum for kids and adults, Creative team, drama team, women’s ministry x 7-8 years

Harrah Church – Kids ministry, women’s ministry, event planning, writing/producing events and curriculum x 5 years

Victory Family Church x 3 1/2 years – Lead Kids Pastor with a team of 5 other staff Kids’ pastors. Our Kids’ Team was leading a team of 400 volunteers in ministries to kids from birth to 6th grade in 6 experiences a Sunday (700+ kids a Sunday). We also launched 2 new campuses during this time. I was also involved in counseling women and families, mentoring women, and led small groups.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Becoming a mother of my two sons!

Experiencing breast cancer and becoming a survivor! It has totally changed my perspective, my mindset, my paradigm, my habits, and my passions!

Becoming a Kids Pastor./being in Kids ministry as a volunteer…sooooo many amazing stories to tell of kids getting to know Christ and accepting Him as their Savior!! I’ve seen thousands of kids get saved!!!

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Having my husband commit adultery multiple times in our 28 yr. marriage. At first I stayed in the marriage and I believe that was God’s will. I learned and grew so much by staying, but ultimately he fell in love and left me so I’ve also experienced divorce. This has obviously shaped me and grown me in incredible ways – especially in my intimacy with God and empathy for others who have experienced this.

Experiencing breast cancer….very tough season in my life with a lot of surgeries and unknowns. God provided and healed!

My immediate family (mom, dad, siblings) was very dysfunctional with a lot of emotional and physical abuse. My parents never told me they loved me until I was in college. I’ve had to learn about love from the Bible and Jesus.
