S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Owen Helms for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

1. I love music. I have been playing drums since I was eleven, bass since I was 16 and I’ve recently started learning guitar. I’m very passionate about music and have been blessed to have many opportunities to use this gift for God by playing music in church.
2. I’m a huge fan of being around people I care about. Nothing makes me happier than spending time with close Christian friends. I wouldn’t survive without steady community.
3. I find it fulfilling when I can find outlets to be creative. Whether it’s writing, drawing, or filming funny videos with friends, it’s a great way to declutter my brain.
I’ve always worked in youth ministry. It’s what I have a passion for. It’s exciting, always fun, always changing, and it takes the Gospel to people at an extremely crucial time when people are figuring out who they are and what they believe.
I have always been adamant that a church needs to have passionate and sincere worship if it is to grow like it should. Also, it really upsets me when I see a complacent church body that is too caught up in pointless programs to actually do effective work for the Kingdom.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
[E]xperience
I grew up in church but around 13 it became apparent to me that I didn’t know the Lord. However, I refused to accept Christ and rather lived in denial that I needed a savior. Eventually, I couldn’t run anymore and accepted Christ right in my living room at home.
I served as a youth ministry intern for two years at Riverbend Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA when I was in high school.
I am currently serving as a college leader in the youth ministry at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gainesville, GA.
I have been involved with mission projects to repair and paint homes in underprivileged neighborhoods in Memphis, TN, Savannah, GA and Ashville, NC. I have also been part of mission teams to New York City to help local churches there reach their communities.
Discipleship has had the biggest positive impact on my walk with Christ. I have been in discipleship for almost 8 years now.
The mission trips I listed above taught me what it means to truly serve and love communities who have limited access to Bible-believing churches.
The different people who have poured a lot of time into teaching me to play music over the years have had a huge impact on shaping the gifts God has given me. If they hadn’t pushed me to take risks and play in front of people, I wouldn’t love music as much as I do today.
I suppose there isn’t one specific instance I can list for this negative experience, but lost people I know who have passed away have had a huge impact on how I view the time God has given me with those who don’t know Him. It has made me understand the importance of urgency.
I had to walk away from a relationship I was really excited about because the girl didn’t make following God a priority. Although it was hard to do and took some time to recover, looking back I know God was leading me to make the right choice and not get romantically involved with someone who didn’t love Him first and foremost.
I have battled before with seasons of depression. This has taught me that reading God’s word and staying steadfast in prayer, as well as surrounding yourself with a community of loving believers is crucial to happiness in Christ.
