#1 Gift, Giving (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I give because the bible commands it. I give money to spread God’s word, Build and support churches. I have always had a giving heart. I would give the shirt off my back. I is just how I was raised. Even if I have bills to pay and I feel the spirit of God, I will give and trust God to help me pay those bills. He has never failed me.

#2 Gift, Prophecy (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have seen a prophecy come true once. I had a particular idea what it was for. I was wrong. when it was fulfilled I was shocked but saw the reason for it. God was glorified and a Christians faith and relationship with God was strengthened.

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I hurt when others are hurting. I have seen so much hurt and devastation recently that sometimes I am numb to it. Other times the spirit moves me to pay for those who are devastated. I call family members who are sick or hospitalized and those who are taking care of them. I tell them I am praying and asking others to pray for them. I get prayer chains going for them and let them know God is on the job. I try to be a more positive person when others are negative. In my own household I encourage my wife who has depression and anxiety and worries about situations that we get into financially. I tell her “It just temporary” and that is what life is. God is always changing situations for his glory. It’s all about how we react to them, turn to him, include him and come out on the other side.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Going to church. I love preach, teaching, sing, listening to music about God, his love, and his mercy. I love story telling that is preaching in disguise. I have since I was 20. I give my heart to God at a young age but never knew about the joy of worship until then. I began preaching at the nursing home next door. I was so filled with the sprit of God it burned inside. I walked away because I sinned and God forgave me but I could not forgive myself. I have a long walk ahead of me but I am coming home: Joyfully.

2. I love Music. I love to listen to Utube. and when I m working I listen to the raio. I love to sing. I love sing gospel ( and some country – Sorry) I used to sing (perform) in church a lifetime ago. I have passed on my joy of singing to my son. I sang song by Don Franciso and Michael Card, ( I love the old songs). I would sing duets and people in the congregation were moved. A couple of years ago I started singing again after a long hiatus. I would sit on my front porch after dark and sing. The neighbors either thought I was crazy or really liked it. Nobody ever said anything. Now I do it on my back deck in the spring, summer and fall.

3. I love working with my hand. I like to demolish, build. assemble, disassemble, chop firewood, yardwork. I just like to keep busy. Don’t get me wrong I love to veg out some times too. But I take on projects on my days off that take all day. I enjoy them.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I don’t have an answer for that. I guess people that like to listen. I have a lot to say.
I don’t like to work with lazy people. I like people who tell me what you want done and leave me to do it but are available for question. I work better with adults.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Hunger and unemployment in Monroe county. I can appreciate the need for fresh water in Africa and the other Charities we donate to but there is a huge need in our own back yard.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was 8 years oldand asked god to come into my heart and forgive my sins with the pastor’s wife in the back seat of their car after church one day.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I had a singing ministry for 1 1/2 years in Florida at the Church of God and the Nursing home next door. I sang solo and duet.

I began preaching at the nursing home next door to the church. I had no formal training but I grew the numbers of attendance and encouraged people who were forgotten.

Through a staff member of the nursing home I presided over a funeral of a child that died from crib death. The parents were not married and did not feel right asking a pastor or priest to officiate.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Meeting my wife. We have been through natural disasters, Homelessness twice, tragic family death of suicide an cancer. And we have hung in there. Just half of those things could have destroyed any marriage. We celebrate 10 years together this month.

I discovered my joy of singing at an early age. I never had the courage to perform on stage or in front of people. But then I got to worshipped God before hundreds of people. People were move in there relationship with God. I have seen God’s Power work through me when I sing alone or when I sang with my duet partner. I have passed on love of singing to my son. When I am scared, happy, unhappy – I sing. It got me through some pretty rough times.

A conversation between my grandmother and I as we watch some shoddy construction work being done. She said “nobody takes pride in their work any more. If your not going to do a job right don’t do it at all.” That memory stayed with me to this day. I give every job 150%.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Abuse, Physical, Emotional and sexual.

Poverty- Homelessness and unemployment not knowing where our next meal was coming from.

Losing my father to alcoholism before we could have a relationship.
