S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Kate Koning for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Teaching (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love delving into the Word and asking God for His help me understand what He means about things I don’t understand. There have been a couple of words given to me previously about sharing my testimony and one about speaking in front of a crowd of people. I’m almost itching to share what I learn, yet find it difficulty to explain at times.

#2 Gift, Prophecy (59%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This isn’t something I’ve ever really done before but I’ve certainly been around others who have.

#3 Gift, Evangelism (56%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I get a bit nervous about this one because I have previously been afraid to tell people in case I ‘stuff it up’. Lately, however, I’ve been around unbelievers and they have said things to me and I’ve thought, “I’d love to lay hands on you and pray for you.” I have no idea why I would want to do this because it’s never occurred to me that I could, but the desire lately has been there. I also seem to have a firm conviction (if that’s the right word) that Jesus is both willing and able to help people and that I can show others who don’t know Him how to find Him. It’s like, ‘I’m really sorry you’re having this problem. Let me have a chat to God about this because He so can help with that.”

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Study God’s Word and pick it apart and look for all the secrets and treasures in there!

2. I love being hospitable and having others over for coffee and dinner.

3. I also love talking to people who don’t yet know God. I have this new excitement in me that I want to share with them because I feel like if only they knew, then they could have God too!

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Adults. I’m not comfortable with kids particularly. At the moment I really love talking and discussing things with people who are seasoned believers because I want to learn from them and share what I’m learning.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I feel a bit reluctant to share this because I feel like anyone who knows this will think, “who does she think she is”?!, but I have this unexplainable desire to preach and / or teach. I would love more than anything else to stand at the pulpit and let the Holy Spirit do the talking through me. I know that I’m not good at explaining things and so the Holy Spirit would have to show up or I think I would just refuse to speak! I get so excited when I read the Word – I can’t NOT share it. That’s my ‘one day’ dream.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Well, I was 9 years old (around about) and I had always known that God was real. I grew up in a non-Christian household but had friends who’s parents were Christian and just knew that there was something about those families that was different. I wanted to be like that. One day I asked a friend of mine how to become a Christian and we went for a walk and she led me through the sinner’s prayer. That’s when I gave my life to God. I started attending church regularly when I was in high school and was involved in youth groups with some of my friends. Some of the camps I went to as a youth and later as a young adult exposed me to things like the movement of the Holy Spirit and I had the opportunity to encounter God myself. It kind of continued from there.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I have done nothing. I’ve always felt inferior to everybody else because I didn’t grow up in a Christian household and thus felt unqualified to serve. I also felt like I was not ‘spiritual or committed enough’.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Meeting and being baptised with / in the Holy Spirit. This is definitely number one.

Learning to tithe and seeing how God works when it comes to finances.

Some of the amazing people I’ve met that have mentored me and taught me about God.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Two marriage failures.

Being in a position where I don’t have children and can’t see it ever happening after my marriage failures.

Being in a situation where I’ve had to deal with domestic violence.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I would go to Bible college purely to learn more about the Bible and it’s historical context, as well as the meaning of the original language it was written in.

4. I would lead a life group that focuses on discovering the Bible and how it can be applied to our lives in a fresh and meaningful way

5. I would pray and boldly ask God for things like healing and see Him move mightily amongst our church. I would give my life entirely to His service and ask Him for faith to see Him touch others in a way that is so impossible that it could only be God. I would pray that others’ faith would be so profoundly built up that our church would be transformed and grow exponentially. People would come to seek Jesus to set them free and they would have revelation of His grace and absolute love for them.
