This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am not sure how to answer this. The phrase “I feel I have these gifts because”, I believe, is a contradictory and nonsensical statement.
-If ‘because’ here refers to something that I have done in the past to earn the gift of teaching, then it is no longer a gift.
-If ‘because’ is referring to how I am currently using my gift then I would say, “I have the gift of teaching because I am teaching. In other words, “God gave me the gift of teaching because I am a teacher” which is nonsensical.
-If ‘because’ is referring to something having to do with how I will use the gift in the future then I cannot answer the question because I cannot see into the future.
So I guess I could answer this by saying, I have the gift of teaching because God gave me the gift of teaching.

[E]xperience

I grew up in a Christian home. My dad was a campus pastor and we were a missionary family so I was exposed to Christianity of whole life. However, my parents never really personally taught my about the Bible. They kind of just assumed I would pick it up by osmosis. When I was 6 I prayed the prayer at my Nana’s funeral out of fear of Hell. As I grew up I did all the Christian activities (church, youth group, over-seas missions, etc) and I continued this pattern into college (except for a brief stint when I was 16). In college I met a man who really convicted me of my need to repent of my pornography addiction. I went to my wife and confessed to her. After that my desire to know God and His Word exploded. I’m not sure to this day if I really understood the gospel at that time, but it was at that time that I really started to desire to follow Jesus.

Have been teaching at Valley Christian School in Missoula, MT in various capacities since 2015

Have served in childcare and on the worship team in the past at Church at the Gates and have been serving as a Missional Community leader with my wife for the past 4 or so years

Was an MK during the summers in Kenya from the ages of 8-18 and was more involved in ministry work there during the summers of 2010 and 2013
