This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am not surprised that this was at the top of my list. I enjoy taking action, creating steps to complete tasks, delegating, and I even enjoy organizing in large and small ways. These skills serve well in the church, but also as a teacher and homemaker.

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I was a little surprised to see this in the top three. I am confident in my faith and I don’t think setting or people groups would change that. I do believe in living my faith openly and honestly, but without judgement towards others or pushing an agenda.

I’m also surprised that this is in the top three. I am not always confident when it comes to executing Biblical truths and text. I know there is a lot of gravity that comes with that and honestly, it intimidates me. I do, however, feel the strong conviction to listen to people’s challenges and offer biblical encouragement, direction, and advice. I want to protect those under my leadership and help them make healthy spiritual decisions… but also understand why those are healthy and beneficial decisions. I enjoy helping others take a deeper look at their lives, priorities, patterns, relationships, gifts, etc. Actually, I do care a lot about shepherding. Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised by this. Hmm.

[H]eart

1. Getting stuff done- seeing what needs to be done and executing a course of action. Especially for something of significant value and meaning. Being a force of action and change and planning all the details.

2. Sitting with people. Talking in small groups and connecting deeply and honestly. Usually over coffee. Feeling a sense of connectness and community even with those who are very different from me.

3. Having fun with people. Whether it’s a movie, conversation, or game night. I enjoy being with people. Especially on my terms- haha! I’m kind of introverted, so it’s more comfortable to host and organize the activities that I think people will enjoy. Or socialize at a time when I know I won’t be distracted, stressed, or unrested.

I enjoy working with my husband. He is strong and confident in the areas I struggle. And vice versa.

I spend a lot of time thinking about diversity in churches and among leadership, depth and truth within the content of music and liturgy shared on a Sunday morning, and the overall flow and “production” of the Sunday morning gathering. The truth is, we want people to be involved in weekly ministry opportunities and engages outside of the Sunday morning gathering, but many won’t. So I find myself thinking a lot about how we can most effectly use our Sunday morning gathering time to glorify God and help people feel more deeply connected to Jesus and others around them.

Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

[E]xperience

I grew up in a Christian home. I have been a follower of Jesus since very early on. My faith became extremely real and exciting to me when I was in middle school and attended youth conferences (Aquire the Fire). I begin to think more intentionally about my actions and my understanding of Scripture when I entered college. God has changed me a lot over the years and continues to show me more of who he is and more of how I need him.

I was involved in our church worship band growing up. I participated from about age 10 through college.

In college I served with campus Crusade for Christ and a local church called Brookside. I served peers in college discipling and and serving as a student leader. I also participated in the worship band at our church as well as in the kids ministry.

Quitting my job to pursue my dream of becoming a stay at home mom. I overcame a lot of fear and control issues and God has grown me so much since then.

Experiencing how the 1Mosaic Church was present in our time of loss and need as well as observing their presentness when others were in need.

Witnessing God transform our hearts as we pursued 1Mosaic. And seeing how he provided for our needs in transition and entrusted us to oversee some of the ministries within the church.

My husband and I struggle to conceive for several years. This was a difficult and dark time for us. In this time, however, our faith has grown and we became better partners to each other. This experience has allowed me to better understand peoples hurts and struggles and also celebrate God’s gifts.

I was abused in my teenage years by a friend of the family. There was very types of abuse and it created so much damage. In the years following this experience, I was challenged to overcome a great deal of fear and anxiety. I still struggle with this today, but God has use this experience to grow me and help me better relate to those who have been hurt and are suffering.

After we left our childhood church and went off to college, one of our college leaders and let a discussion centered around legalism. It was through this discussion that I realized that I had many legalistic thoughts and practices ingrained into my mind from my teachings as a child. It was through this eye-opening experience that I begin to examine my heart, scripture, and the way I judged people’s actions. God use this talk to reveal my own sin and draw me closer to him. I feel like I now have a better understanding of Scripture, God’s heart, in the way he desires me to live and think.
