S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Lorie Hyatt for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised Catholic But always felt like something was missing. I was never encouraged to study the bible. Since I have been attending Amite Baptist have been reading and studying God’s word.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My Parents are very supportive and loving people. They have been married for 55 years. They have shown me that great things are worth fighting for.

My husband Kendell and I have been married for almost 29 years. He is differently my better half. He is always my rock in good times and in bad. I thank God everyday for him.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

We are originally from Empire, Louisiana. Our home, two businesses, and our community were destroyed my hurricane Katrina. It was the most difficult time in my life. We were separated from family and friends. Our decision not to go back home did not come lightly. Having gone through losing everything and having to literally start our life over, you learn quickly that material thing just don’t matter. If you have faith, love and a support system you can conquer anything.
I was very blessed to find LaBella Salon in walker. I have been a stylist there now for 12 years.
Kendell and I have become closer and stronger.
When the flood of 2016 happened we could differently related.

After hurricane Katrina, my husband and I open a pizza restaurant. We invest all of our time and money and just could not get it branded. We had to file bankruptcy. We were very thankful that we didn’t have equity in our home or the courts would have taken that too.
This has humbled me.
