S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Eleanor Cheung for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Administration (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’m all about operational excellence and execution. Every vision of goal needs people who can break things down and figure out how to get things done, step by step.

#2 Gift, Serving (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am able to “see” what needs there are to be met and how to get them done. I enjoy enabling others to do what their great at.

#3 Gift, Teaching (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Honestly, I’m a little shocked that this is in my top 3. I would have thought Exhortation was above Teaching. But perhaps it’s b/c I’m enjoying the new role of motherhood, which involves more teaching.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I’ve grown up in a Christian home, and don’t have one precise moment when I became a Christian. But I do definitely believe that my mother brought myself and many in her family to Christ and that her life and death models what a personal relationship with God through Christ can look like on Earth.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Served as the Operations Manager for a church plant in South Bay called GrX (sister church to New Song in Southern California). Served there from about 100 Sunday attenders to 800+ attenders, about 3-4 years.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My mother’s death and end-years. Showcase of the reconciliation powers of Christ

The conception and birth of my daughter, Eloise.

Being laid-off and unemployed.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Living with allergies (both in myself and in my daughter)

Victim of sexual harassment at work.

Being laid-off and unemployed.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Encourage, equip, and empower Christians to live out whatever God has for them.

4. Minister to people in very practical ways so that God is revealed

5. Express my creative-self through the medium of food (road-blocks being allergies and eczema)
