Grew up Christian; battled alcoholism and desire to please others and live as the world; in and out of churches and recovery through my teens and twenties; in 30’s found recovery from alcoholism through 12 step recovery then came back to Jesus as my Higher Power.

Co lead several women’s bible study groups at Heartland Community Church; currently facilitate a women’s bible study group at work; all bible study groups involve each person reading scripture and preparing for meeting to discuss.

Write to ladies in Johnson Co jail through the Gracious Promise ministry; write notes to first time guests at Westside Community Church

Stuff envelopes and mailings churches and for Voice of the Martyrs

Women friend relationships to hold each other accountable in spiritual, recovery, and life journeys

Although my journey involves many churches and denominations, it has broaden my life experience

Having a solid loving family, with a special needs brother who developed only mentally to a three year old who died at age 29.

Living a lifestyle with drugs and alcohol: Overcoming alcohol addiction has given me more compassion and understanding of addiction.

Being a gang rape victim: Overcoming the shame and anger has made me be able to emphasize with other women as “me too”. Also learning to extend God’s forgiveness.

Having been in an abusive marriage with drug and alcohol addition: Overcoming the anger and learning to forgive enables me to understand women in similar situation.
