S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Meredith Pack for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
There are a lot of components that make up the YoungLife ministry, and a lot of opportunities for spiritual gifts to be used, pastoring and shepherding being some of those gifts. When I was a YoungLife leader I felt that these two things were what I felt most called to do, and enjoyed doing the most. Being able to bring in the lost and the outcast, befriend them, grow in relationships with them, begin to do life with them, and explain the gospel to them through it all was incredible. A mother figure by nature, I loved having a group of girls who I was able to nurture, guide, and watch over.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
It took me a while to realize that I have been called to teach in many areas. It began when I started teaching dance, and then slowly trickled into ministry. I think the Lord has given me the ability to clearly articulate difficult topics and explain his gospel in a way that can click in the minds of new, potential followers. While writing talks for YoungLife the Lord would often be quite literally guiding my thoughts, eliminating sentences and themes that didn’t make sense or weren’t correct, and providing a new, clearer route. I also feel so much joy when I am able to teach and pass on what the Lord has taught me. I feel that I have a great understanding of how to communicate with kids whose age and circumstances I have been in myself.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Again, evangelism is a huge part of the ministry of YoungLife. I feel honored to have been called and used by the Lord to speak his Gospel in front of large audiences, and smaller groups as well.

1. Hang out with high school kids who are the complete outcasts of their school communities.
2. Spend time in the word of God surrounded by nature.
3. Chase sunsets and watch sunrises.
High school kids, 100%.
I grew up going to a traditional, southern baptist church where it was really difficult for me to understand Jesus and the Gospel. Years of attending that church left me with legalistic ideals rather than a true relationship with Jesus. It concerns me when churches seem to push rules and law rather than stressing the internal heart change that has to take place before you can begin a relationship with Jesus and start to understand everything else.
The opportunity to go on mission trips really excites me. Whether that’s in the community or outside the country.
YoungLife will always excite me. That ministry is incredible and changed my life forever.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
[E]xperience
After joining YoungLife when I got to college I attended “First-Year Fellowship” every Tuesday with a community of believers who were all in different stages of their faith walk. I heard the Gospel proclaimed to me in a brand new way every Tuesday and it was finally revealed to me what it meant to truly be a Christian. I accepted Jesus into my heart, accepted his Salvation and forgiveness, and finally understood that I had to make changes from the inside-out rather than the outside-in.
YoungLife – involved for 4 years – served in NC, SC, NY
Becoming a YoungLife leader
Going to UNCC
Completing a summer internship at Lake Champion
I made some very poor decisions my freshman year of college because I felt that I “owed it to myself” to have some fun after living with strict parents for so long
I got in trouble with my YoungLife superiors for underage drinking.
