[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. My heart beats for the nations. I want every tribe, tongue, and nations to know Jesus.

2. Abused and battered women. Women who have been physically and sexual abused. I want them to know their freedom lies in Christ Jesus.

3. I do like spending time with people and learning their stories and what they have been through, and to be an encouragement.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love to work with women of all ages also people who don’t have a voice for themselves.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I love when church has community so we all can feel accepted and have others to do life with. What concerns me is, I have served on church boards before, and I dislike church politics. I have seen in split churches and believe we need to do a better job at accepting everyone.

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I gave my heart to the Lord at 21yrs. old. I had been abused as a child physical and sexual, so growing up in a home where we were forced to go to church but behind closed doors all these hypocritical things were happening, I never wanted to serve God. Then while my stepmom has high on drugs she invited me to go to church. I told her, “if she never mentioned God to me again, I would go to church with her this one last time.” God, does have a sense of humor, that was the day I gave my heart to the Lord. My intentions for going was so the Pastor would see what a hypocrite my stepmom was doing drugs and then wanting to go to church and pretend like nothing was happening. So glad God grabbed a hold of me that day.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I have serve as a deacon and Children’s Pastor at a very small church, while in Bible College and upon graduating. I served there for 6 years. It was called Columbia Heights Assembly of God, in Mpls. Mn.

I also served as a Children’s Pastor for an International Church Plant. To be honest that experience is something if I were to do over, I would have said no. It lead me to burn out and swearing off ministry. I did not want to stay in ministry anymore. I took a 3 year break where I went through extensive counseling.

I also serve as a Missions Coordinator for a Missions House our church had. It was a house that missionaries on furlough could stay in while stateside. I served on the Missions board at Cedar Valley Church in Bloomington, MN for 6 years before God called me to Thailand. Also was involved as a leader for Children’s ministry at the same church. Served as Women’s Ministry Leader at a church in Thailand

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

I believe serving as a deacon has helped me know some of the ins and outs of how churches function. Also that I was able to be a part of making decisions regarding the church.

I loved serving as the missions coordinator for our churches Missions House. I got to meet missionaries and hear their stories from the areas where they served. Being able to serve by watching their children and just giving of my time.

Serving as a Children’s Pastor and Women’s Leader as lead me to be a co-founder of a non profit called Bloom International. Our passion is to see women know who they are in Christ to also Empower, and Encourage them.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Being physically and sexually abused as a child has given me a strong passion to help those children and women who have been through the same thing.

Having served with the church plant that lead to much negativity and low self esteem in ministry, actually has shown me how I never want to ruin any ministry I am involved in. I am so grateful for the years of counseling I went through for healing.

I have extreme compassion for those who has suffered abuse, lack of finding their place in ministry, and for those who don’t have a voice for themselves. I believe my experiences in life has shaped me to be a more compassionate person.
