[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I enjoy serving at church and in the community. Even if I just help one person or make one person smile I know I have shared love.

2. I love to travel. I enjoy meeting new people and not only for myself but to enjoy life as God meant it to be.

3. I love reading and writing. I am a passionate writer and voracious reader. I enjoy bookstores and libraries. I would love to run a Christian bookstore/Christian women book club/writers group.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I enjoy working with groups who support and encourage women especially single moms. I enjoy working with and visiting senior citizens. I love youth activities and have a passion for teaching.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I still see women having to compete in church. I believe there is a great need to teach women new and old Christians the expectations and what a Godly woman looks like. I hear conversations at church about buying the most expensive clothes or who has the most excellent children etc. While I am not legalistic I do believe and have. a strong conviction that we should be set apart and that means our speech and dress should reflect that.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

It started with a book of Bible studies and a few times to vacation Bible school. When I was 11 and my mom remarried we joined a church. I was saved at 12 but didn’t have anyone to disciple me. It took many crooked roads but now I understand more and live a more Christ centered life.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I have served in a homeless ministry at Bayside Church in California and New life church. I also helped document church activities on social media and through photography, writing and in the church office. I also went to downtown Sacramento on my now on Sunday afternoons to give out Bibles and pray with the homeless.

I am currently involved with a single mom’s ministry and production team at Stonewater church.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Vacation Bible school was a big impact. It not introduced me to the Bible but it appealed to my writing and creative side.

Chosen for the school newspaper. I was always invisible and I attended a large school to be chosen to write by my peers was a big turning point in my life.

Becoming a mother and grandmother.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I grew up in an abusive household with a dad who had PTSD. I am from a broken home and I was a latch key kid.

In my teen years I grew up in an abusive home that was supposed to be a Christian home.

I have had to ask for help financially and when I was first divorced I had to be on welfare.
