Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a Christian home. Church was my second home. We were always there helping or attending something. I thought if I followed God and obeyed Him, nothing bad would ever happen in my life. When I was 13, my cousin was killed in a motorcycle accident. I was so confused. I thought I had done something wrong, otherwise, why would God have taken my cousin? About 6 months after that, our youth group attended a youth conference. The speaker talked about why bad things happen to us, even as Christians. At the end He did an alter call. It was then that I realized that God wasn’t punishing me for anything. And that I wanted a relationship with Him, more than just making my life perfect. My relationship with God had to be more than that.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Prairie Hill Free Church – I served at Prairie Hill for many many years. I helped with VBS every year for about 6-8 years. I helped in the nursery, childcare for events, etc. Most recently I helped with the SR High youth for 4 years, 1 year of that being an intern running the SR High program.

Love Inc – I volunteered with them for about 1 year.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Serving alongside my husband in ministry/Running a youth group alongside him

4. Mentor Students on a regular basis

(Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Made a profession of faith in 1989. Led to the Lord by a wonderful friend.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Calvary Chapel Santa Maria, Santa Maria, CA…B.S. teacher, servant.

Calvary Chapel Greeneville, TN: Head of Women’s Ministry, helped with mentoring/counseling women, Women’s B.S. leader; bookkeeping

Frist Baptist Church, Greeneville, TN: Sunday School Teacher. Harris Memorial FWB Church, Greeneville, TN: Bible Study leader, EFT team member.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Probably the biggest one was getting involved with Precept Ministries and learning how to study the Bible inductively. How I realized I have a gift of teaching.

When I first became a Christian I was in a Bible study and we had a lesson on forgiveness. Forgiving myself and my husband for the abortion I had in 1975 was a turning point in my life.

My first mission trip to Mexico helped me to see with compassion and opened my eyes to so many things. Affected me profoundly. Then, there was a trip to Israel a year ago that changed my heart and my understanding of the Bible for a lifetime.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Drug and alcohol abuse and abortion. Learning that my birth mom was raped and that was how I was conceived…all of which made me stronger and gave me such a heart for folks in bondage to those things. Also gave me opportunity to share my testimony with others struggling in same way.

Have been very hurt by a church. Deeply hurt. However, have learned a lot from that.

My husband’s bone marrow stem cell transplant was very difficult to go through with him but through that my relationship with and understanding of God reached a new and much more intimate level.

3. Would love to do more mission trips; love to be involved in sharing the gospel overseas.

4. I would have a home for unwed mothers in my backyard; a place where they could also be discipled and mentored and taught skills.

5. I would like my home to be used as a small retreat center for missionaries; folks who travel sharing the gospel. Wouldn’t be in a position to do that for probably 4-5 years.
