#1 Gift, Teaching (96%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I feel I have this gift because God wants everyone to have an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ. In order for this to happen, the word of God has to be taught in such a way that every one can understand.

#2 Gift, Prophecy (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
People have become more doubtful of the existance of God. The gift of prophecy opens their eyes that God has heard their prayers and only He knows what they have been asking for. The gift of prophecy opens the heart of the people.

#3 Gift, Administration (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
The gift of administration is necessary to bring order to the house of God. I believe when Jesus overturned the money tables, it was a display of administration. Order is necessary.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love speaking to others about the word of God and explaining how His love is shown to them.

2. I love to worship the Lord through the arts.

3. I love to study the word. Studying the scriptures to understand what God is saying for the here and now is important for this time in history.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

The ministry that excite me the most is teaching the people about the importance of prayer and the difference between praise and worship. These are the things which will get the people closer to God so that they can understand His will for their life.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I became a Christian Hammond, LA, while I was in college. The name of the church is Redemption Christian Center.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I was in the choir while I attended school in LA at Redemption Chrisitian Center.

When I was in NYC, I worked in the youth ministry as a youth leader and the choir director. The name of the church was Calvery Christian Fellowship.

In addition, I worked as a church treasurer at a church in Yonkers, NY called City Harvest

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

While I was a member of Calvery Christian Fellowship, they encouraged us to read and study the word of God. I acquired a library of bible dictionaries and commentaries which helped me in my understanding of God’s word.

Another major impact was my tithing. Although I didn’t have a whole lot of money, when I was tithing, I was able to do more things that did not involve the church. I was not in debt.

The last and this was the most important thiing to me, was the fact that I lived 5 years without a TV. Without this distraction, I had the opportunity to learn how to pray, praise and worship. I had nothing to stop my communication with God.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I had an elder who belittled me.

There was a pastor who chose to listen and believe a story about me told to her by her daughter, who was also a minister, instead of applying biblical priniciples to obtain the truth.

During a time of turmoil in my marriage, a pastor was supposed to be counseloring my ex-husband and myself but he did not do an effective job. He basically made it seem as if the problems in my marriage was my fault because I was “submissive” enough.

3. Have an art school for those who wanted to worship God through the arts. I would have a dance studio, a place for puppet learning, drama teachers and singers as well as those who wanted to learn how to play music.

4. Open a 501(c)3 restaurant where the people who wanted or needed it, could come and get a gourmet meal with top notch wait staff, real plates and eating utensils. Sometimes, people don’t need the food but they need the social interaction eating with others bring.

#1 Gift, Teaching (100%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This was not a gift I started out loving (in fact, I vowed that I would never be a teacher!), but over time, I realized that I can have and use the gift of teaching without actually having an education degree or working in K-12. I love to teach adults because adults are vested in their own learning and they are more likely to apply what they learn. I have a lot of experience teaching in various capacities. I love tutoring/teaching in the language arts but also teaching God’s Word. My co-workers in the past have confirmed that this is one of my gifts. Also, I love to learn, and I think a love of learning is a foundation of good teaching. I am hoping for more future experiences to improve and grow in my teaching. While teaching in China, I saw many areas for growth!

#2 Gift, Administration (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’m an organized person, and I like to help others be organized too. I enjoy making things happen, and making sure nothing gets left behind in the details. I am very thorough! I’m a reliable planner and I can be very task-oriented (sometimes to a fault). Sometimes I need to stop and remember that people are more important than “getting things done.”

#3 Gift, Evangelism (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Here is the other 50% of my people-task orientation. I love learning what makes people tick, hearing their stories, and knowing where they come from. I can listen to or read a biography of a lost person and read so much “in between the lines.” I can see where/how they are hurting and what their spiritual needs are from just listening to them. Also, I am able to share spiritual conversations very effectively with international people from different religions. However, I really need to grow in my ability to share the Gospel with Americans who may be “culturally Christian.” I find it easier to share with people who have little knowledge of Jesus than people who think they already know the answers!

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. being outdoors in nature (hiking, camping, etc.), exercising (swimming, lifting weights, yoga)

2. learning about personalities of myself and others (like this test)

3. balancing solitude with community (I love time alone on retreats to spend time meditating. I also love showing hospitality and hosting people in my home.)

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

age 18+ (college students and adults), ethnically / culturally diverse groups of people

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

discipleship, training and equipping the Body (for evangelism, outreach, studying the Word, etc.), mobilizing the Body for global and local missions

*Mark the Top 3 from the list, that Trigger a Passion in You

Health/fitness
Other – 1) international issues abroad: world missions and outreach, 2) international issues domestically: refugees and intl students; also showing hospitality to the “stranger” or foreigner

[A]bilities

My current vocation:

I am in transition from full-time ministry into a secular career. I have a short-term job but am currently looking for a job that can become a career.

Other jobs I have experience in:

Special talents/skills that I have:

fundraising, persuasion, networking, hospitality

I have taught a class or seminar on:

1) How to have a Quiet Time, 2) The Christian symbolism of the Jewish Seder meal, 3) Biblical contextualization of Christianity into a multi-cultural setting, 4) Romantic Relationships and God’s Design for Sex and Marriage, 4) How to use your Secular Chinese University Classroom as a Mission Field, 5) many Evangelism trainings (including Muslim, Hindu, and Atheist ministry), 6) many Cross-cultural Communication trainings (including training short-term American missionaries to travel overseas as well as training international students to enter well into American culture), 7) many ESL classes (Cross-cultural Communication, Writing, and Conversational English), 8) many Bible studies and Discipleship meetings in small groups and one-on-ones

I feel my most valuable personal asset is:

ability to connect with people and make them feel at home, a willingness to explore spiritual depth, and my cross-cultural skills 🙂

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I became a Christian at the age of 5 when my parents read a children’s devotional to me about the Lamb’s Book of Life. The Holy Spirit worked in my heart, and I told my parents I wanted my name to be in that Book. They led to me trust Christ as my Savior and there was so much JOY!!!!! I remember it like it was yesterday. Despite many ups and downs, He has kept me on His path since then.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Campus Crusade for Christ at Concord University, Athens, WV, 4 years as a student (member, praise band, then leadership)

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship: International Student Ministry, University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, 7 years, campus ministry intern – then staff – then director

ELIC (English Language Institute / China), served in Beijing at the Beijing Institute of Technology for 2 years in university English teaching as well as campus ministry

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

short-term mission trips abroad (especially Dominican Republic which taught me to share my faith with large groups and experience the supernatural aspect of the Holy Spirit)

being discipled by my youth pastor for 4 years in high school

the InterVarsity Urbana Missions Conferences (’06 as a student and ’09 and ’12 and as a staff). I did what I did for the past 10 years because of Urbana.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

my 2011 mission trip to China that I co-directed. It was the worst summer of my life but ended up being a time of much learning. I learned the 4 C’s: dealing with Conflict & Confrontation, how to handle Criticism…. and ultimately Character-development.

my 2015 move to China: it was an awesome experience, but there were many difficult aspects of adjusting to Beijing. I learned so much about perseverance and the power of community. I also learned that just because something is my calling does not mean it’s going to be easy.

my recent transition “home” back into American culture for the past year. It has been the most difficult year of my life, but I am learning to put my roots deep in the storms.

3. I would start a blog sharing about faith and crossing cultures

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised in the church and don’t remember a time not “being a christian” even if I wasn’t necessarily following. It was when I moved away from family that I felt the urge to attend church and get involved again.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Central Christian Church, Gilbert, AZ – served as part of hospitality team for MOMs and in their Camp Central with preschool age kids.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Not having a close relationship with either one of my parents.
