S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Kristie Ford for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Giving (93%)
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have donated and managed several outreach events in the DMV area which has allowed me to donate to and serve the homeless, hungry, poverty-stricken. I donate to 501(C)3 orgs and churches so they are able to better serve the homeless regularly, cook food, prepare for food drives, teach computer and life skills classes to welfare-to-work programs, and write grant proposals for funding opportunities.
#2 Gift, Evangelism (90%)
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am able to evangelize at a moments notice, whether it’s through prayer, speaking, and communicating via social media, I uphold the Word of God and allow my behaviors to reflect favorable on my beliefs. I am constantly studying and learning God’s Word because the lesson is never the same, no matter how many times I read the same scripture. I use the spiritual warfare approach because I am better able to teach individuals and/or groups on how to identify and combating evil with the tools provided to us in the Bible via Bible studies, one-on-one sessions in person and via conference call. My approach to challenges is to use the spiritual warfare approach. I enjoy learning and showing others how to laugh at the enemy’s attack and not fear the affliction because it’s another feeble attempt of his to steal our joy, kill and destroy us. I am a spiritual mentor who is able to effectively approach affliction with the promises of God, our obedience to the Word of God, using scriptures that are easily applicable to day-to-day activities, and communicate the vision of leadership.
#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (90%)
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I use exhortation/encouragement to encourage so many people who come to me looking for comfort and the truth. I’m not one who will boldly stand on anything other than the Word of God. My testimonies about what and how God has delivered me through so much affliction as a battered woman, single mother, breast cancer survivor and one who has seen God’s work in others, I am able to share similar experiences and show how they align with God’s purpose or how it does not align with God’s purpose, in a loving, supporting, and caring manner.
[H]eart
Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:
1. I love to use my technical background to serve and teach. It is so delightful and worthwhile when I can share what I know to someone and watch their faith grow instantly. It is very rewarding.
2. I love to be with family and friends eating good food, singing karaoke and watching a boxing match.
3. I love working with individuals who can feel restricted and alone such as: nursing homes, senior’s facility, children’s with special needs or hospitalized. Whether it’s bingo, coloring, reading to them or bringing them a scrumptious plate of food, it is soothing to my soul to be chosen to assist those in need, and being able to allow God’s plan for me to manifest. It feels so good inside.
Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:
I’d love to work with adults of all ages when it comes to teaching basic, intermediate computer skills. I’d also love to work directly with senior leadership. I have a great abundance of Administration (overseeing), multi-tasking, and stepping up to the plate abilities that I can offer a very busy administrator.
Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:
I’m interested in learning to evangelize. I am licensed and ordained but would like to be directed to a church that is willing and able to develop me more. The only issue I had was that the time it took me to get a response from signing up for group took over 4 months from start-finish. I received a response when I communicated that I was no longer interested. A need that excites me is to have a cancer support group for the afflicted and their family members. As a survivor, it is a goal of mine to start a group someday. When I inquired, I was told to go to Glenarden Baptist Church for assistance. I ended up joining a group at my girlfriends church. I would have loved to have had support from my very own church during this challenging, confusing and painful time.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
[E]xperience
My brief testimony of how I became a Christian
I became a Christian around 9 years old when I was forced to live with my step-father who was white I(I am not) and I was called every verbally abused by adults and children often because of the color of my skin. I was bullied and threatened. I was reading the pamphlets that came in the mail called the Plain Truth Magazine that introduced me to a personal relationship with God. I called on God to remove me from this situation because I was in trouble every day due to fights. I prayed and cried and prayed and cried. God comforted me because I was not so distraught all of a sudden. I had a feeling that all would be fine, after every night, I prayed. One day, in a dream, I dreamed my mother showed up in a red car to get me. Months later, when school was out, that vision manifested itself just as the dream. I returned home to my community where I was accepted and loved. I knew then, that God was real and he answered. I continued a relationship with God until I was baptized at the age of 21.

Back-up prayer line lead, active participate in weekly Bible studies, back-up Bible study instructor, plan fund-raising and celebratory events.
List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:
The first positive experience from the past that made a big impact on who I am is the birth of my children
The second was my ability to stand-up for those who are fearful to speak for themselves and my big heart to resolve problems and/or comfort survivors of bulling, domestic violence and other various tragedies and share with them their power over evil through establishing and maintaining a relationship with Christ, continuous prayer and supplication.
The third is my need to serve the Kingdom of God by serving others by giving as much as I can, as often as I can.
List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:
Drug abuse: as a young adult, I have experience drug addiction and abuse of various kinds. I know how it feels to feel withdrawn, fearful, and to not know how to approach God with it. When I hit rock bottom, I called Him, he came, delivered me with favor. Everyone I got high with at that time, are not alive today due to drug-related problems and domestic abuse. But God, spared me, protected me, healed me, restored me and I know because I’m still here, he has a greater purpose for me and I am seeking Him to find and live in my purpose for the Kingdom, ’til I die.
The second experience was single motherhood. I got married young, did what I thought was honorable in God’s eyes and my marriage was full of verbal, physical and mental abuse from an addicted husband. God removed me from that situation and he went to jail. God was able to restore our friendship enough for us to raise our son and we are great friends today because God taught me how to forgive. Now, I have compassion for those who are experiencing domestic violence and I know that God was a better provider, husband and father to my children.
I have experienced so much jealousy, even in the house of the Lord. Sometimes I find the woman can be so vicious towards one another and new comers and that’s always been a negative experience as I try to merge into the House of the Lord to do my work. Such negative behaviors has run me away from committing to a church for many years and I was just fine being a spiritual hobo (roaming from church to church but don’t belong). Now, I’m hopeful that all of that is over with.
Wrapping It Up
The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?
1. My Relationship with GOD
2. My Relationship with Others
- Putting Your Spouse First
- Your Kids Second
- Everyone Else After those
3. Provide more $ support to existing ministries my church has going on and I would have ministries that are paid and volunteers to feed the homeless, address violence with children, domestic violence, prisoners, etc and create a for profit business that would be able to train, employ, feed and house them.
4. Establishing or strenthening existing loving and understanding relationships using God’s wisdom and understanding.
5. Have my adult children with me in church and worship with them regularly.
