Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect

Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Under conviction for a little less than a year, I would stay up half the night afraid to sleep (if you know me, that definitely is not a common trait). I was around the age of 16. I would sit in my bathroom floor crying with the light on because I felt like something would swallow me up at night in the dark. I was afraid to die and what would happen if I did. Finally, after spending so many nights that way, it hit me what was happening. I woke my parents up and accepted Christ around midnight. I was finally able to sleep and breathe freely again.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Lakewood Baptist Church, Harrison Tn.

Odd jobs since I was 13

-Service position for elderly group for 5+ years (serving meals, preparing events, setting up, etc.)
-Sunday School teacher aide & substitute. 1 year before leaving church.
-Wednesday night Awana gym time leader 2 years.
-Wednesday night Awana teacher’s aide 2 years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Growing up around a diverse group of people due to the karate school.

Growing up in a law enforcement and military heavy family helped with structure and decision making.

Over the last year, God has been teaching me patience after a closed door in my career path.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Having someone purposely throw a test against me has made me more passionate in fairness, especially among the female population in law enforcement. Not only for women to be treated fairly by other females on the inside, but also to have punishments for bad behavior more even and fair.

Watching my friends get bullied by others (including adults) has shaped me to have a fire for protecting others and not being afraid to fight back.

Being at my grandparent’s house many times when police were called to arrest my uncle for various reasons has helped me grow compassion, not for the criminal, but for their family. Watching my Granny having to make the decision to call the police on her own son for our safety is something that I’ll never forget.

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. My husband and I are currently working towards having our own farm one day and would love to be able to donate some of our food that we grow to shelters. Also to add to that, we have both dreamed of building a small house on our property for friends who may be going thru a hard time to live at until life evens out. Particularly his brother, David.

4. If the Lord wants me in law enforcement, one thing I’ve always admired about my father was his ability to interact with those he arrested. I would love to be a mentor and witness to those who have never heard encouragement or heard The Good News.

5. To help get my church in their own building at a location where they feel led.

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love teaching bible study at teen challenge – I also love that it is a relatively “closed” group – the ability to connect, laugh, learn & teach with and to others & watch God show up – often in spite of me is amazing. It is the one thing in my life right now that I am completely confident is exactly where I need to be – when I’m there I feel like I am doing exactly what I was created to do

2. I love to worship with music – both by myself at home & corporately.

3. I enjoy reading & learning – and when the rare opportunity provides itself, discussing what I’m reading & learning with others.

Generally adults – but also really enjoy spending time with teens.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

hmmm…..i’m in such a transitory space right now, but teaching…perhaps small groups….. historically I’ve loved support roles but it’s really easy for me to end up disconnected in those roles; Balance between structured and organic connections

Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

7th Grade – new friend in small town asked if I wanted to “ask Jesus in my heart” when I was staying all night with her – have had intermittent times of falling away & returning

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Been at DiverseCity Church 20+ years – deacon, elder, worked with teens, taught bible study classes; organized registration team for annual outreach – DrugBusters (usually served 300+ kids per night); served in nursery (didn’t really like); church-wide cleaning projects; Years ago played guitar & was part of worship team

side note – while I can do larger group things & often can like them, they are generally not energy building but energy pulling for me. They rarely develop a feeling of intimacy with others for me – That is far more likely to be built for me either 1:1 or groups of 3-4 people that I have consistent, if not lengthy, interactions with over a much longer length of time.

add’l side note – there was a time when my vision of what I wanted to do within God’s kingdom was clear – it is no longer clear to me at all

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

AMAZING youth group leader – unfortunately she is no longer a believer but she had a HUGE impact on me.

Working with an amazing group of co-workers & teammates at the battered women’s shelter – we were a diverse group of women who became incredibly close friends and were able to have great conversations and challenge one another to grow – we also did conflict well with each other

Parents who were best friends with each other and were wonderfully kind and giving to others. They almost always spoke well of others and frequently provided support to others.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Date-raped age 16 – didn’t understand that it was rape for a long time

Hospitalized for major depression at age 18

Had a long-term relationship with someone who was chronically suicidal – learning that I couldn’t control their choices has given me the freedom to allow others to own their own choices & recognize my limited control over the actions of others

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Be a part of an inactive team much like I had at the battered women’s shelter – but with other christians – not necessarily for battered women, but perhaps something like a teen challenge – or a transitional program for women coming out of prison or addictions – a blending of program director & direct service – but definitely the team process

4. Partner with another or a couple groups of people to build and support expansive small group life groups system that others were genuinely excited about – MAYBE..not sure about this one

5. Take the RZIM apologetics 2-week summer course in apologetics at Oxford University – Engage in the classes & hopefully build my ability to more naturally have conversations around difficult topics with christianity
