[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

My father shared the Gospel after soccer practice when I was 5 or 6. That was my first introduction to the Gospel. But it was all legalistic and about attending church services. In college, that’s when I first truly understand what it meant to have a personal, intentional, ongoing relationship with Jesus. From freshman year of college until now, I’ve understood what it means to walk with Jesus daily and make him my number 1 priority.

The Rock Church – 2009 – 2012 : Small group leader.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Discipleship relationship with Garrett Naufel & John Drage. These men inspired me during my young days as a college student.

Paternal relationship with my grandfather. He showed me love, grace and steadfastness growing up in spite of not having a father figure.

Paul Restive — journalism teacher in high school — believing in me and speaking to my potential as a writer and a young man.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My parents divorce — it was hard growing up with a single mother with 5 kids. My relationship with my dad has never been the same.

My father tried to commit suicide when I was 7. That’s left a long-term scar.

I lost my first job abruptly after veering off my career path to pursue a dream I thought God was leading me toward.
