S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Donna Poirier for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

[H]eart
Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:
1. I love to build up and encourage those who are either beat up by others, or beat themselves up. I lOVE to bring hope into a hopeless heart. Bring healing from past hurts, and help others forgive themselves for the dumb things they have done as well. Sometimes its easier to forgive others for the harm they have caused then it is to forgive yourself for the harm that you have caused. I love to bring people through that. I love to prophesy into individuals lives so that lasting, heart filled change is the result!
2. I love to do praise and worship. I love to write songs, sing and lead worship at church, play my piano/keyboard and other instruments. Leading others into the presence of God is what I love to do.
3. I love to give to others in unique ways like of my time when they are going through hardships etc. I often will pay for someones groceries in a grocery story because I just want to bless them and then I say God is taking care of you today or something like that. 🙂
Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:
I love to work with young people, young adults, college and career age groups.
Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:
Ministering to the church as a whole, prophesying ways for individuals to increase their walk with the Lord. Preaching and sharing GODS LOVE!

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
[E]xperience
My brief testimony of how I became a Christian
Abandoned, lost, liar, alone, incest/sexually abused/ rapes, pregnant teen, high school drop out, met a Christian who brought me to church, got saved that very day… Jesus changed my life!
Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):
FICF- Music Director: worship leader and music director for 20 years.
FICF- Youth Director: youth and young adults as youth director and youth pastor along side my husband for 15 years.
Associate Minister- with my husband for 20 years
EN-Worship leader, Music ministry for 5 years
List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:
Learning that God loves me no matter what I have done wrong and no matter what I have done to hurt people. I have done terrible terrible things to people in my past. I have since asked as many of those individuals as I could, to forgive me. Knowing that God does not see me like that and loves me no matter what I have done has changed me immensely. I am forgiven and I am changed!
My husband and our personal marital experiences and trusting the Lord to keep us strong through terrible adversity has literally changed me and caused me to see that it is not all about me. Also, my children and the unconditional love of God that is shown through them!!!!
My education. Struggling through school, failing grade 7, having ADHD and dealing with abuse at home, not having good grades at all even after failing a grade, being told I’m dumb and not smart, going to high school and still dealing with abuse at home and the feelings of not being smart so why even apply myself, getting pregnant and dropping out of high school because of the embarrassment and ridicule. Raising a baby on my own as a teenager with no support, no education and at first no where to live sleeping in phone booths for shelter in the middle of February winters.
But then God… a few years later, met my husband got married, had 3 more children and went back to school on pretty much no education. Going back to school full time with 4 young children (the youngest being a year) was tough but it was a start. I wanted them to have this strong mother example of what Jesus can do in your life. I started with a diploma then went for a bachelors degree to a masters and now a doctorate. Having an education is something I never knew could ever happen. “Not someone like me!” To God be all the Glory!!!!
List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:
Hearing the my mom tried to abort me and my biological father took off and abandoned me. I still don’t know who is he but God is my Father.
Sexual abuse since I was 3 by uncles, babysitters and step father and being raped on multiple occasions. God exposed the lies of why it kept happening and it has been dealt with. After it all… I even led my step-father to the Lord. He has since past away but I forgave him and led him to Jesus. Jesus died for the pedophiles as much as he died for good (the just and the unjust).
It is so hard to narrow it down to just one more experience because there has been so many. I have narrowed it down to two more. I hope that is ok.
1. At one point I was doing some criminal activity to someone who at the time I hated. I wanted to hurt her and her family and I don’t even know why, I think it was just so jealous of her and her family so the way my teenage brain worked back then was…I could turn their world upside down and my hope was to cause them some pain. I guess I wanted the stability of her life but I knew I would never have it. I thought that their stability was unfair and I wanted them to see what it felt like to have pain. Needless to say the police ended up on my door step. I ended up just causing more of my own pain and pain on my own family. About 15 years later I called this individual and repented and asked for forgiveness. She said to me that she forgave me and heard that I was changed. She heard that I was “religious”. I told her I have a relationship.
2. My mother knew that my step father was sexually abusing me as he had a record of pedophilia in his past but yet she still married him and allowed it to continue for years. After I became a Christian, I left home and went to stay with people in my church. It was a very rough road as our “little secret” was out in the open. I went on with my life and she did too. We talked but we were not as close. I still did Christmas’s there and we had family events etc but things were not the same. As time passed I was married and had 4 children, 4 girls to be exact. My mother would often ask for my girls to go and sleep over and have a camp out and stuff like that. Of course I ALWAYS said “NO!” For years this went on and on until finally I called her and told her I need to come over and talk to her. I was very sensitively confronted her about my step fathers behaviours and actions as well as her own. She tried to put up a brave front. I explained to her that it was so hurtful to hear her tell people that I was lying and it was not true when she knew all along that it was true. I then told her… “but mom, I forgive you!” She broke down and things began to heal from the day forward. Not only was she released but I was too. My mom is now serving the Lord Jesus too.
Wrapping It Up
The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?
1. My Relationship with GOD
2. My Relationship with Others
- Putting Your Spouse First
- Your Kids Second
- Everyone Else After those
3. To have the wisdom and insight to be able to touch anyones heart with the love of God in a way that only God could… So they have an undeniable experience that would prove that God is real and God is love!
4. I would focus on showing others the love and forgiveness of God to those who have harmed others and who have been harmed by others. That there is much healing in forgiving others and even more so when forgiving yourself.
5. Being able to have enough money to bless anyone at anytime of the day or night and even to financially bless the rich, not just the poor. Many focus on the poor forgetting that many (apparently) financially rich people are actually in debt and have had to go without many times in their lives too. They have also made sacrifices and to have someone bless them financially is the last thing they would ever expect. I truly believe it would touch their heart more to know that someone sees their heart need (of just needing to be loved for who they are and not for their money) than anything else on the face of this earth.
