My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was saved when I was 11. I was raised going to church.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I served on committees at Ferriday 1st Baptist in Ferriday in Louisiana in the last 4 years.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My daughter got saved last August at church camp. It is so amazing to see your child to get saved.

I love praying for people and situations and seeing prayers answered and the Holy Spirit work.

I was having a very difficult time with my feelings toward church and people in church. I moved from Kentucky to Louisiana. I joined to church there and my walk with God and my attitude toward people changed. I renewed my faith in God and people. I went for going to church at to duty to bring excited to go praise God and fellowship.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I had a miscarriage. I was on anti-depressents before that. After the miscarriage I never touched another pill or drink for anxiety. I turned to prayer. Then I had 3 kids in 5 years!

My family had to claim bankruptcy. We went from having it all to having nothing. It was just things. We still had our health and people that loved us.

I have had several friends struggle with addiction and some die from addiction. When this happens it is hard to know if you could have said something else to help. Maybe if I had prayed more not set strong boundaries in my life. I do know when it comes to addiction there is nothing I can do but God can.

#1 Gift, Mercy Showing (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I know that it is a part of my character and desires for others to see God’s love and kindness. I hate to see people hurt and struggling and alone and want them to know God is there for them. I have seen this most reflected I think in my passion for children, elderly, and woman. As a teacher I have been drawn to the children with disabilities, difficult living situations and brokenness. In my life I’ve been drawn to the elderly, most specifically my grandmother, but also those that are widowed and shut-in in nursing homes with nobody to care for them. I also tend to feel strong passion for women in difficult situations that struggle with feeling loved and have been hurt in their lives and need help and encouragement.

#2 Gift, Giving (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoyed being able to bless others, and I see giving of the things God has blessed me with as one big way I can do that.

#3 Gift, Evangelism (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’m A little thrown off by this one honestly, but I do desire to befriend those around me, to be able to talk to and bring joy to others around me in order to reflect Jesus and hopefully share about Jesus from my life with others. I do get nervous talking about Christ and God at times with others unless the conversation opens very naturally and I have built an intimacy with them, but even with that I feel a deep joy being able to share What God has done for me when I feel somebody is ready. And I strive to always be open to talking to others the way God leads me.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love teaching and working with little kids in many different aspects.

2. I love being a part of something, an action or an activity that gives and blesses others. Especially getting to see people receive a gift or a blessing that they needed. Service projects that help people, bringing people meals, sewing gifts for people, things like that.

3. I love talking with other woman. I enjoy being an encouragement to them, gaining encouragement, collaborating on how to be a better wife and mother, and gaining that wisdom from others.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love working with little kids. Toddler and preschool maybe may be my favorite right now. I have a strong heart for children who are just learning to be saturated with the knowledge of God. As a mother of a two-year-old it has been so rewarding to see how a one-year-old to two-year-old can already grasp aspects of God just from continually showing her aspects of God she can grasp, and I desire for that for others. I have always enjoyed the joy and energy and fun of being with little ones and I especially love sharing about God and how much He loves them. I enjoy children of all ages and have worked with infants all the way up to middle school in various experiences in my life. And I have experienced great joy and fulfillment in working with elementary and middle school students. I have found that I have seen God use different aspects of my life to help with different ages.I did middle school girls for a few years and loved teaching and guiding them, especially with being able to remember and relate so much to my teenage struggle, but I know that is an age that takes a lot out of you and you have to be very involved in. Which I think would be hard in my life stage now.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I would love to see the nursury have a simple “lesson” and bible song activity for the 1 and 2 year olds and something they home with parents that can be a guide for them throughout the weak to show or talk to their children about.

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a strong Christian family being taught about who God was and how I was to live my life. From since I can remember I have had a love ad desire to follow Christ and to live for Him. I made the commitment when I was 12 years old to ask God to forgive me for my sins and to be Baptized to symbolize my commitment. I have journey though many ups and downs and struggles since then that have taught me more about Gods amazing grace and His desire to continue to grow me and continue to grow in my love and devotion to Christ.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Nursury and Sunday school teacher as a young adult, early collage years.

I have been on a few during mission trip in collage and right after that involved activities with kids, painting and teaching English, and working with special education teachers

At Antioch Bible Baptist in Gladstone, mo I taught a three years old class at one time and worked with the middle school girls ministry for a few years.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

I went on a Missions trips to Thailand working with kids in poverty during two years in collage and have been back again to Thailand to work with special needs children. This experience opened my eyes to having compassion to those in poverty in other countries.

Moving to Kansas City to live with and take care of my grandma was a huge life changer for me. I was very far from my family and had to make many decisions on my own and becoming more independent while sacrificing a lot of freedoms and opportunities so that I could stay and care for my grandma and be a Blessing to her during her old age and last stage in life. This opened up a passion for me for other widows and elderly who just need a little help and joy to be in their lives.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Struggle with my identity and wanting to be “desired” by others as a young teenager and that developed from negative experiences when I was younger. That has helped me to be able to relate to many young girls who struggle with that as well and give them guidance and hope in finding their beauty and acceptance and love from Christ.

My second year of collage I developed friendships that led to drinking and partying. I thought that I could live two lives and it would be ok. I found new grace and mercy from God at an all time low in my life.

Before I was born my mother was in a diabilitating car accident. Through her disability, through the prayer and support of my father she had five kids. As a child I saw my mother live through these difficulties and I saw my fathers love and support. When I was 7, after my baby sister was born, the last of us five, for whatever reason this triggered seizures in my mother. After that she continued to suffer from them and the mental and physicalaffects. As the oldest girl I took on the role many times helping to care for the younger siblings and as I got older and my mother continued to suffer from monthly episodes that would leave her disabled for a week I took on cooking and care for running the household chores while my mom was sick. This shaped a lot of who I am from compassion for those who struggle physically with disabilities and grew in me a deep caring and nurturing protective role as I helped care for my mother and my siblings during those times.

[E]xperience

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
