[E]xperience

Born into a wonderful Christian home. Accepted Christ at age 7. My parents led me to Christ. I love the local church and have grown up in it. Plan to do the same for my young, growing family.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Cornerstone Baptist Church, Perry, GA, youth pastor, 2000

Cross Point Baptist Church, Perry, GA, pastor, 2001-2013

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My parents are wonderful

My home church was wonderful

The city where I was raised (Warner Robins, GA) was wonderful

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My wife and I struggled with infertility and a failed adoption.

I have had to make very hard ministry/leadership decisions at a young age.

This isn’t negative, but it can be difficult: I have moved away from family to pastor now, and I also have siblings serving on mission field overseas.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I would love to provide expositional teaching from every verse/section of Scripture before I die.

4. I would love to teach every man at CFBC how to lead his family in worship through his role as husband, dad, and family priest/pastor.

5. I would love to help young preachers and fallen, hurting preachers get healthy and equipped for their local church.

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I live 600 miles away from all my family. I had visited my mother in Feb of 2014 for a week. She was hospitalized and on a ventilator. After the ventilator was taken off and she was doing better, I came back home. I attended church regularly. March 31, 2014 was the day I was Baptized and gave my life to God. My mother passed April 3, 2014. I thank God for preparing me for that moment.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Working with my grandmother and mother in the kitchen.

Working with a woman that taught me alot and worked even harder than I did. She also kept her family close and in church.

Having a strong bond with my siblings

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My family moved in with my step-grandparents when I was 6. My step-grandfather molested me until I was 11. That experience was difficult to overcome, but God got me through it.

I have been in multiple car accidents due to quite a few bad decisions when I was younger that resulted in multiple broken bones. With Scars and broken bones I never gave up. God had gotten me through also.
