[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I did not grow up at any sort of church but in the middle of my sophomore year of high school a friend brought me to her church and I’ve gone ever since. It took me about a year to really feel God working in my life and for me to able to honestly say that I was a Christian.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Willow Creek Community Church, Illinois

I am 17 so I attend the high school service and I serve in special friends which is a program for kids with special needs.

I’ve gone to willow for a year and a half and served in special friends for a few weeks.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

The winter camp for high schoolers was amazing because I learned and understood what it was to be a Christ follower

Serving in special friends has allowed me to grow and learn tremendously

My mom has inspired my every move, motive, and moral

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

The passing of my grandma

Losing all of my friends my sophomore year

My boyfriend breaking up with me. Sounds silly but it wasn’t my first heartbreak so it was hard, but I came to church for the first time because of it.

Wrapping It Up

Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To raise the most loving and accepting family I possibly could when I’m older

4. To give a speech to the world letting every human being know that they are who they are because God made them that way and that they should love themselves because it’s impossible to love others if you don’t love yourself.

5. To help all people who are suffering and help them learn from their mistakes

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was born into an unequally yoked home but was saved as a child. Grew out of my Christianity as i got older (walked away from God). Was drawn by God after a life filled with several addictions and deadly habits caused by a horrible childhood and life. Divorced parents, deception of false prophets, and a host of other issues that I don’t have the time nor space to type. Now, saved by grace!

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I served as associate minster at PleasantView Baptist.
1517 Kayte Street
Mobile, AL. 36617

Nazaree Full Gospel as the minister of Music for 19 years
1695 W I-65 Service Rd N, Mobile, AL 36618

Now, pastor at Sweet Pilgrim Baptist
359 Saint Charles Ave
Mobile, AL. 36617

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

At Pleasantview I was in one of the cities greatest choirs which prepared me for the position at the next church.

At Nazaree as minister of music i learned more about being a leader. With the responsibility of all choirs, band, video and audio personnel and equipment.

As pastor, there are several lessons I’ve learned thus far, but the greatest I believe would be patience.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Pleasantview was where I did my initial sermon but the pastor did not know how to train ministers so I was delayed in learning ministerial things.

At Nazaree I experienced church hurt by pastor and certain members that sent me in a spiritual slump that changed me forever. It gave me a new strength and deeper faith in God.

As pastor of a Baptist church i experience the lack of respect from church trustees that led me to almost give up as pastor but that patience that I spoke of learning earlier is what assisted me in waiting on God as he fought those battles for me.
