[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

After reading a book titled Religious without Christ when I was in high school, I was inquisitive on being a Christian. the leader of the Scripture Union group challenged us on what was most important to us in life and by the next time I listened to a sermon by a visiting preacher I was hungry and ready to give my life to Christ to reign in my life

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Served as a Greeter in First San Jose Foursquare Church, CA for 11years
Offered my home for small group fellowship in Nigeria for 4 years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

I saw genuine Christian living in the leader of the Scripture Union and desired to emulate her She showed a real change of lifestyle which proved to me that Christ has power to change people

My mother was a very hospitable person and passed that on to me while watching her. To this day I love making my guests feel as comfortable as I can and people do visit me a lot as a result I guess

i realized the importance of actually knowing/memorizing Bible passages and practicing it from my friends in college

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Somebody I confided in told other people which made me feel betrayed. This made me realize the sting of gossiping and as such I am very aware of avoiding gossip

I was very disappointed in a friend who refused to help me in time of need and never wanted to associate with her but I listened to lots of talk on reconciliation and decided never to hold on to malice and grudges and learn to let go because no one is worth going to hell for

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

8 years old at a Youth Church Camp (my cousin was a counselor)
Activity was to write down my sins and throw the paper in the burning fire – I can still feel that feeling – I went to my cousin and told her I needed to be saved – she walked me through accepting Jesus as my savior

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Friendship Baptist Church Cartersville

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Working at Egleston and watching Christian parents depend on God – literally for their own breath because their son or daughter had died in operating room or ICU.

Praying with parents and watching them “accept” God’s will for their child

Helping a family at the hospital to start Camp Braveheart in honor of their daughter many years ago – she has since passed away. The Camp is still held every summer and is awesome!

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Maybe working at Egleston would be viewed from others as a negative experience as so many of the outcomes were death. But, having a child tell you their is someone at the foot of their bed dressed in white – and I couldn’t see them – but that child could see them; ; then within a few hours they closed their eyes and went to heaven.

My dad also spend 9 months in and out of hospitals due to a motorcycle accident. My mom, brother, and myself totally relied on GOD and out faith is what got us through his illness and death.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To work with children who have been rescued from sex trafficking – educate children on ways to be a safe as possible

4. Go on a yearly mission trip to serve orphaned children that are having open heart surgery and their is no parent to hold or love them afterwards
