My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

When I was 5 years old I remember feeling guilty about sin and needing Jesus, my savior. My parents are both in the ministry so by this age my understanding of the gospel was firm. My dad taught me scripture and my mom sang hymns and songs. They also used my adoption to teach how God adopts us into his family. I knew I loved Jesus and needed him to save me from my sin. Later my dad baptized me and I’ve been on the faith journey ever since 1989!

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Cartersville First Baptist Church
Cartersville, GA
Kids Ministry Teacher (2010-currently)
Worship Choir (2012-currently)

Magnolia Springs State Park (The Hill Baptist)
Augusta, GA
Kids Kamp Counselor (1997-2000)

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Being adopted and sharing my story through the book, “The Thread” to minister to families walking through adoption and to glorify God. Psalm 3:3

Growing up and being discipled in a godly home. My parents walked out their faith in front of me. They love Jesus, serve others and set a kingdom example. They taught me that there is power in the name of Jesus! Hebrews 12:5-6

In school, godly teachers surrounded me and inspired me to become a teacher so God could use me to make a difference. Daniel 1:17

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Being hospitalized for 22 days helped me rely on God alone. It also gave me great compassion for those with special needs. Lamentations 3:22-23

Unsealing my adoption records brought heartache and compassion. It is bittersweet to read about my birth mom. My heart is tender towards adoption from both sides. God literally plucked me out, showered me with grace and favor. Esther 4:4

After my first year teaching all new teachers were let go because of a reduction in force. Trusting God had a perfect plan helped me persevere through the tough times.

5. To hold a backyard Bible club and reach our lost neighbors.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was seven years old at my church on a Wednesday evening. I felt God speak to me that I needed him so I ran down to the front at the altar call and a lady showed me what to do and I prayed to receive Jesus as my Savior. It was a very joyful moment that I cherish.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Going to live with my grandparents when I was a teenager made a huge impact in my life. I grew closer to Jesus and received peace and stability in my life.

When I was a teenager, I did not know what I wanted to be when I grew up so a teacher at my church asked me to volunteer in her classroom at school as a teacher’s aide. I did and that is when I fell in love with kindergarten.

When I got my job at Excel Christian Academy, it was very enlightening and helped me ease into teaching because I was with kind and supportive people. I was also able to meet my husband because I moved to GA because of my job and now we have 2 sweet little girls.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Having parents who do not want their children is tough. I really have a heart for children in foster care.

My family has also been through abuse so I really hate to see that. It brings back the helpless feelings.
