#1 Gift, Serving (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy serving and being in the background, not the spokesperson outfront. I enjoy people but not crowds. Sharing the message of Christ is important to me and I am more effective serving and helping those with more outgoing personalities than I have myself. If I am not recognized by man for my service, I am okay with that. I have no desire to be ‘known’ or in the spotlight, teach, or be a public speaker.

#2 Gift, Mercy Showing (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I believe that I can show mercy because it has been shown so greatly to me. I am no better than anyone else and no one’s sins are greater than my own. I can relate to the hurt of others because of my own life and experiences. For me, helping another person to feel better (a word, a card, a smile, a prayer) is sharing the love of Jesus.

#3 Gift, Evangelism (56%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This one surprised me! I don’t consider myself gifted at all in evangelism. I proclaim the gospel and what God has done in my life because without Him, I wouldn’t be here. I think I share the gospel as encouragement. I scored the same on Exhortation and Encouragement as I did on Evangelism. I think I am better at encouraging by sharing Jesus than full on Evangelism.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Reading and writing cards/letters – encouraging

2. Praying and journaling

3. Being with my family and being outside. I like to clean, too. Oh, and I exercised every day before I broke my tailbone!

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I enjoy working with elderly people and with people that need a friend, need encouraging (troubled)

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I want to know more about the jail ministry. We have a good number of people in our church that have family members with addiction issues (substance abuse) etc. and I would like to see that addressed more in a public way. Often the one suffering has so much guilt and shame that they don’t feel accepted and the family needs support but they, too, feel guilty and ashamed and judged so they suffer in silence.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was saved at age 24 at Trinity Baptist Church. I didn’t always live ‘right’ and I wandered. God was with me through cancer and many years of my ongoing battle with Crohn’s. However, it wasn’t until a few years back I really began a relationship with Jesus. It was cold, rainy night and I was in the middle of a bad neighborhood looking for Tori. I had not seen/heard from her in several days. I was scared and exhausted. I cried out to my Savior and He was right there with me! It was then that I began to understand the truth of the gospel and that HE is God of all things; in control of all things; loves me unconditionally and truly never leaves me. He is everything and I am nothing apart from Him. Nothing that I ‘have’ is mine – everything, including myself, belongs to Him.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Video Team and Prayer Team – current
Ladies Ministry Team – past

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Being raised by my grandparents – we were very poor but they raised me with love and morals. I am forever grateful for the life they gave me when my 16 year old momma couldn’t take care of me.

Having Cancer and living with Crohn’s Disease. Crohn’s Disease is humbling because it’s all about going to the bathroom! Seriously, it taught me to see people as equal – or be embarrassed about going to the bathroom often … after all, everyone does it. 🙂 Cliche’ as it sounds, Cancer helped me to see that it’s not about what you look like, it’s about what kind of person you are. The body fails but the spirit lives on.

Meeting a man that loves God more than me. It took years for God to soften my heart to love and trust after my divorce. I was fiercely independent. Meeting someone that actually loves me (better) because he loves God most is an amazing life lesson!

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Having a child with addiction/substance abuse torments

Divorce and being a single mom for 16 years

Losing my job after 19 years and my retirement along with it

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Let those tormented by addiction, hurt by life, and/or feeling ‘less than’ know that they ARE LOVED! And to let their families know that it’s not their fault and/or not to be ashamed.

4. Go on a mission trip (I am afraid to fly and I have anxiety about leaving home for too long)

5. Remind those that think they are ‘good enough’ that ‘good enough’ and ‘better than’ and ‘at least I don’t do that’ doesn’t get them into heaven … only surrender to Christ and a relationship with Him gets us to The Father. Not money or material things; not status or name … ONLY JESUS.

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Back yard VBS 3rd grade I remember praying and asking Jesus to be my Savior. However, it wasn’t until I was HS and regularly attending church that I wanted to be baptized and really began to grow in my relationship with Jesus.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Preschool Director Shalimar, FL 1 year

Student Volunteer CFBC 10 years

Children’s Director Staff CFBC 10 years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My parents spending time with me, telling me Bible Stories, praying with me even though we didn’t attend church

Being part of a great youth group through HS and having a close group of friends in church/school

Dating and marrying my HS sweetheart and being involved in church together

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Losing Brent’s mom and my mom unexpectantly

Mild hidden depression. Hiding it behind a positive energetic attitude in front of others.

Brent losing his job and watching him do anything he had to do to earn money for his family

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Own a beach condo and allow church staff and family to stay for free to get away from “ministry”

4. work with ministers/especially female preschool and children’s “directors” addressing depression, fatique, burn out

5. pour into families that struggled in their marriage, with their children, and parenting. I would love to have a condo to allow them to get away together, especially for those in my ministry that I knew could not afford to get away as a family.
