S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Teresa Shepherd for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’ve taught in several areas working with children’s small group from kindergarten to 2nd grade, VBS (childrens, middle school and high school) , helping with the children at Faith through creative ministries , youth and recently filling in for ladies small group. I’ve been blesssd that God has open these doors for me to serve Him in each of these areas for his glory and not mine and wherever God puts me He’ll equip me to go. I pray for His will not mine.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love spending time with God. I have a certain time everyday after my husband leaves for work sometime I want to push him out the door so I can talk with the Lord and spend time in the word.

2. I love spending time with my children and my grandchildren which are all blessings God has given me.

3. I enjoy walking on the beach talking to the Lord and with friends talking about our lives and praying for struggling we may be having. This is meaningful to me and I’m so blessed to have christian friends and co-workers.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Honestly I just want to be where God puts me. If He sends me and it’s His will then He’ll equip me for the task He places before me.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I love working with Group99 and I really don’t have any concerns.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

The Lord saved me at age 12. My Sunday School teacher Besie Miller lead me to the Lord in June of 1972.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Teacher, choir and nursing home ministries at Parkway Church of God.

Teaching Sunday and VBS children and Pre-teens and helped with creative ministries and choir at Faith Baptist Church. I served st this church twice.

Hopewell Baptist Church teacher 1 & 2 grade on Wednesday’s, VBS 2nd grade, 5th Grade and Middle School / High School and Chior.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Serving the Lord from a young age has impacted the person I am today.

God blessed me to raise three children and the joys and trails of being a parent greatly impacted the person I am today.

My formers Father-in-Law was a pastor and his compassion for others and the love he had for his family no matter if they made mistakes. He showed true forgiveness and love for others.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Divorce! I hate the word…marriage is meant to be forever. It’s hard on the children and the spouse. The devil seeks to destroy the family. A lot of emotions come out but the thing the Lord showed me though this was no matter how wronged I felt I’d been done in my “get him God” moment……….God made it clear to me no matter what the other person had done to me God loved them as much as He did me. I learned a lot through this. God loves us all the same and forgiveness is a must. Forgive with the same forgiveness God gives to each of us.
