S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Nikki Wooten for taking the SHAPE Assessment. #1 Gift, Serving (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have a strong desire to serve the Lord. He has done so much for me in my life and I am incredibly grateful. I want to work for the Kingdom and give of myself to God in appreciation for all He has done for me. He’s ultimately given me salvation and all that He does for me daily. I enjoy helping others and the fulfillment that brings.

#2 Gift, Teaching (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Currently God has brought a couple of teaching opportunities my way. 5 years ago I was asked to be a Preschool teaching leader for Bible Study Fellowship, working with a different Co-leader every year. And I’m also teaching a Stars class on Wednesday evenings for 3rd through 5th grade girls with 2 other teachers.
Through these 2 ministries I feel that God has grown me in this area of teaching and being a co-leader of a small group. I did not feel comfortable with teaching until God brought these opportunities in my life and He showed me that He would equip me.

#3 Gift, Evangelism (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have a desire for evangelism in my life currently, I believe, due to having 3 children who still live in the home. I desperately want to them to have a relationship with Jesus by knowing Him more. I try to share what God is doing in my life and what I’ve learned through Bible Study. Also I am aware that many of my children’s friends and parents are not believers. I feel a sense that the Lord has brought these friends and parents my way to witness to them. I pray often that the Lord would give me wisdom on reaching my children, their friends and their friends’ parents.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Spending time, playing games and talking with my children, sister, brother and friends.

2. Bible Study through BSF(Bible Study Fellowship). I enjoy the in-depth study of the Bible and the time it causes me to spend with the Lord. I find great intimacy with God because of the study methods in this ministry.

3. I find fulfillment in exercising and in regular cleaning tasks in my home.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I like working with people older than I am. I don’t feel the pressure of competition. I enjoy and feel comfortable working with other Christians vs. non-believers.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Reaching the lost and giving them the knowledge of the loving Saviour. Making an unbeliever feel welcome in God’s house.
Youth ministry- I believe this age group is critical to reach for the future of the church. They are seekers and strongly influenced by the enemy through online activity. But if they could be influencers to their peers, there could be big results. This is a fresh concern for me because of my children.

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was saved in a Bible Baptist Church at the age of 6 or 7 years. I rode a Sunday School bus by myself, through the invitation of a man named Brother Love. My family did not attend church. I fell away from the Lord in my teen years and early twenties. Then rededicated my life to Christ after I met my husband who was a strong believer. And God really grew my relationship with Him and gave me my first taste of fellowshipping with the body of believers and being a part of the family of believers while we lived in Lebanon, MO at Lebanon First Assembly of God church.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

1st ministry privilege- Northland Cathedral in 2001- Rainbow Coordinator
Lebanon First Assembly of God, Lebanon, MO 65536:
nursery, 1 year taught Friends Girls Ministry, Welcome Wagon and Welcome Desk for maybe 6 years.
Family Worship Center, Smithville, MO: Sunday School teacher toddlers

BSF International: 5 years in the leaders group in the Children’s Program- KC Northland location.

Stars: 2 years – 3rd to 5th grade girls- Northland Cathedral

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

The investment my high school French teacher made in my life. I was angsty and she took me under her wing and spoke words of encouragement in my life that caused me to believe in myself. As a result of her influence I became an exchange student to France/Switzerland and went to KU and received a BA in French.

Meeting my husband and becoming a part of his family was a big impact on my life. I hadn’t lived a life where Christ was an active part of my daily living until the time I met him. I never had a home church or was a part of a church family. I started attending church with him and my relationship with the Lord was rekindled. Without a doubt my husband is a gift from God.

Getting a job at American Century Investments after graduating from KU. This helped me know that I could do a challenging job. I was able to successfully relay information that I had no prior knowledge of beforehand. This job helped boost my confidence in my abilities. And I saw God’s hand in giving me one of my heart’s desire at that time. I had wanted to work in the city in a business environment.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Not living in a home that actively worshipped the Lord. I was exposed to swearing on a daily basis and put downs by my father. Mother who listened well but was quite passive. I feel this helps me to understand those who live a lost life and kids who are innocent beings who live in a situation they can’t control.
God came to me when I rode that Sunday School bus by myself for a couple of years. I know He can come to children, even without their parents support.

Sinning greatly while as a saved person helps me have compassion on flawed believers.
In my teens and early twenties I lived a worldly sinful life of partying drinking, smoking marijuana and I had a 5 year boyfriend that wasn’t a Christian. Even though these were dark years, during this time I felt God’s presence. I would pray myself to sleep every night, even if I had consumed alcohol. God was walking with me in the darkness, protecting me. He kept His promise, He did not forsake me even though I deserved it. And when I came back to Him, like the prodigal son, God was waiting for me, He gave me the best robe and lavished me with blessings- starting with my husband.

I shoplifted in 6th or 7th grade with a group of friends on multiple occasions. I was very uncomfortable doing this, but i felt peer pressured. One night I prayed to God to let me get caught and then I would have a good reason to stop and my friends would understand. I asked the Lord to have mercy and allow me to get caught with something small so I wouldn’t get in huge trouble. A few days later this is exactly what happened. As I was walking out the door, a hand tightly squeezed my shoulder, and I was terrified and relieved at the same time. While I sat in the manager’s office being questioned I was grateful to God for helping me.
This has helped me see God’s hand in the good and bad situations in my life and how God will answer prayers and sometimes answer exactly how we ask.
I never felt pressured to steal again. And I think it scared my group of friends and they stopped shoplifting after that as well.
