Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I had a life changing encounter with God at six but did not grow in that through my teen years. I committed my life to Jesus during my Freshman year of college.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Led a youth group while in the Marine Corps in Guantanamo Bay Cuba 1970 -71
Spoke at the Base Chapel while in Guantanamo 1970-71
Minster of Youth – Wildwood Baptist, Bethesda, MD 1971-73
Minister of Youth and Music – Potomac Baptist, Sterling, VA 1973-77
Senior Pastor 1st Baptist Mt. Rainier, MD 1980 -81
Senior Pastor Capitol Hill Baptist, Washington, D.C. 1981 – 1988
Founding and Senior Pastor Tysons Community Church 1988 – 94
Consultant and coach to a variety of Pastors and Churches 1995 – 2019

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Raised by a courageous and committed father who loved Jesus.

My Marine experience drove me to the scriptures.

Learning to share my faith through Evangelism Explosion and being mentored by my pastor at Seminary.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Overcoming five life challenging losses during my teen years.

Exposure to two churches in which there was no vision and little commitment caused me to seek to find ways to be sure I am aligned before I commit.

Planting a church without understanding caused me to understand the importance of staying in my lane and allowing others to do the things that I don’t do well.

Wrapping It Up

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Building a Local and National Network of Mentorship and Discipleship communities devoted to building leaders for tomorrow.

4. Establishing a ministry to men in the community that draws men together and reaches the most unreachable men and stimulates men to action.
