S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Zachary Deutsch for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Teaching (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love understanding the Word and the meanings in scripture. I find the depth of scripture to be beautiful and powerful and have a desire to share that. I have an analytical mind and enjoy studying. It is exciting to me to help others understand scripture in a level that they may typically not understand.

#2 Gift, Serving (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
As an introvert, I don’t really like being the center of attention. I am very content just being in the background helping the flow of things and helping people in whatever way I can. Serving is a great method for me to meet peoples’ needs in a direct and tangible way. Sometimes the smallest things can, whether intentional or inadvertently, make the largest impacts.

#3 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
As I have come to understand my own brokenness more and more, I have also gained a better understanding of why a shepherd is so important in my life. As I have served in high school ministry I have gotten to help mentor and guide the kids, which I thoroughly enjoy. I have a desire to guide and protect other Christians, especially those who are less spiritually mature than myself.

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. (Deliberately) Developing deep and intentional relationships with those around me. I love knowing and being known with strong connections and pursuing those relationships deeper. (quality over quantity for me)

2. Exercising and physical activity. This is a great stress relief for me, whether it is working out or going on walks.

3. Listening to worship music & eating ice cream

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love working with excitable, creative, and driven people. type “I’s” on the DISC scale. They can bring a level of excitement and fun to my more reserved analytical side.
I do also enjoy working with people who are analytical like me so we can dive into specific technical topics.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a Christian house with my dad as the pastor of our church. I attended every week, going to Sunday school and youth group. My parents are wonderful people and raised my brother and I well, but my problem was that I THOUGHT I was saved because I THOUGHT I knew who Jesus is. I knew all the classic Bible stories and I could even recite every book of the Bible in order. But I had no relationship with Jesus. It was drilled into me that I had to be at church every week, and I knew if I wasn’t it might make my dad look bad. I fell away from my faith my senior year of high school and then I left for college. I joined a campus ministry toward the end of my freshman year, and my sophomore year is when I truly realized how important genuine and personal relationship with God is. From there I began to make it more of a priority. It is still far easier to study the Bible because that comes more naturally for me, and I am still and forevermore will be seeking a deeper relationship with my Christ.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Fearless, Centerville OH, 2 years
~ High school leader: serving in the high school student ministry leading small groups, guiding students and developing relationship with them

~Young adults leader:
serving on the leadership team organizing events and weekly environments, facilitating discussion groups, and setting up and tearing down

CCH (Christian Campus House – college ministry), Angola IN, 3
~leading SWAT (Spiritual Weapons and Tactics) small groups with peers
~leading Greek life Bible study
~leading FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Bible studies

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Meeting Jordan, my mentor in college. He helped guide me through life, emotions, and my spiritual walk.

My wrestling journey. Taught me a lot of discipline and now sometimes when I hug people I want to do a wrestling move on them.

Having a good community of believers in college around me.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Having diabetes and a variety of injuries from sports. It has helped me have more gratitude for when I am healthy and where I am at today and understanding difficult illness situations.

Heartache from breakup. Taught me to understand my emotions and connect with them on a level I hadn’t before. In the midst of that heartache still relying on God.

Struggles with the passivity of sin. I can be my own worst enemy, and often times if I am not doing something perfectly, I have a very negative self-image. It can lead to feeling unworthy, but knowing that God accepts us as we are and doesn’t require perfection out of us to follow him is encouraging.
